That's because he's not on the 40man. They actually only have 39 players on their 40man. Unless there was a plan to use him at the ML-level this year there really isn't a good reason I can think of to put a player on the 40man you don't have to.

STL looks to be positional player heavy on its 40-man ... 22 pitchers and 17 position players ... 8 of whom are infielders. Taveras has been injured a good bit since May and is actually rehabbing right now at rookie ball.

Just read on DMN that Young will only accept a trade to Texas because apparently his son was really really sick this year? Anybody else here this? I hope it's not serious.

Yeah, I just saw that too. I hope he is going to be OK. I'll always appreciate MY for his time here and wouldn't mind getting him back in the DH spot if it didn't cost that much. Of course I would prefer more of an impact guy.

Hey, if the Phillies want a box of sunflower seeds for him... we are already paying him $10M. Why not? We need a DH. Now do I think he would make a huge difference? Not so much, and honestly, having Soto C and AJ DH might actually be a better option. I think we all know he isn't coming back though.

Have any of you heard anything about Quentin possible going to Texas? I saw it mentioned as possible on another board. Carolos has a NTC. I don't know if he's given Byrnes a list of teams or not. He was a late scratch for last nights game against the Reds.
