I'm looking for a Rangers fan for a 1-week avi bet on the Rangers/Indians series.

Anyone up for the down stroke?

It sucks to see Napoli doing so well elsewhere. Why didn't JD just do the right thing by signing him and putting him at first?
Having Napoli would have been nice but we still would have Moreland and Prince and that just does not work.

Here is Scott Lucas' report on Chi Chi from yesterday.

After a rough two innings, Gonzalez took charge and was poised for a 6-inning, 3-run line. Unfortunately, Carlos Rivero took him deep for the first time this season in the 6th. Gonzalez matched a season-high seven strikeouts and issued no walks for the first time all season. I attended briefly, in tourist mode, and saw him miss several bats with what appeared to be cutters and two-seamers.

5 runs in less than 6 innings is not good. No problem with trying to find a silver lining but the fact remains he has not been good for a while. When he starts to put it all together then I will be glad.

Weird start time today. Anyone ever seen a ranger game start at 5:10?

When he was having good results and he wasn't striking out very many batters some took that to mean he was headed for trouble. I wonder if any think the opposite is happening now. That is, bad results runs wise, but getting strikeouts means better times are coming for him.

Has he been striking out more hitters this year or was it just one game?

Just noticed the Mariners are starting their NL "rival series" this week with San Diego. Who is our rival? I thought it was Arizona.

Listening to E Grant and he said we will not see the last of Hamilton after this year. Rangers will find a place for him. Don't shoot the messenger

Anyone who thought the Rangers would just cast him aside weren't being realistic.

There is so little downside for playing out the "Josh Hamilton hand" for the club, why wouldn't they see what they can/can't get outta him? He'll cost so little next season. Besides, it's not even June yet, and the club can wait for 10 months or so before making a decision.

Happy Memorial Day sir!
