Most of his recent starts I've seen him around 94-95

And you can't look at his average this year bc thats out the water due to his loss of velocity when he lost that weight due to the virus

And he might not have even built himself all the way back up even

i agree with you about his recent starts and his velocity for the most part, and i agree with you and romeo about the virus thing for sure. his velocity today is a little low even though the gun reads 93-94 on the KC gun (which again, is perhaps the fastest in mlb). so, those 93-94 readings on KC's gun translate to around 91-92 on our gun, which is nicknamed the humbler because it might be the slowest gun in mlb. but i digress, my point is i've seen holland touch 95ish on the arlington gun which would in turn translate to 96-97 on this gun here

Nice job Beltre. Gotta take advantage of an error and wild pitch. Two weeks ago I'd expect the pitcher to get out of that unscathed.

I'd settle for an off the wall double.

I'll settle for that too. He didn't even hit it that well and he got it to the warning track. Kids definitely got power. We just haven't seen it yet. Love his plate discipline and how he battles.

Exactly ... he's locked in or he would have tried to hit either of those 2 offspeed pitches that were very close. I think we are going to be very happy with Mike Olt.

in his last start in texas he was hitting 95 regularly, so i'm not worried about velocity

Holland will come back around and he'll be very important to the rest of this season. None of us really know how long that virus affected and how long it'll take him to get back to top form, but I think we'll see him turn the corner very soon. That control will be the last thing to come back.

MY kills another rally not trying to extend the inning and get Hochevar to throw more pitches before he grounded out "sharply" to SS.

Now let's see Holland dial it up.

I still can't believe he put him in the 2 hole.

What's the best thing about MY grounding out to end the inning?

Answer: we know we won't have to see him in the batters box next inning unless Texas bats around.
