Rangers' A.J. Griffin: Beats Royals for fourth victory of 2016
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire
Griffin (4-1) tossed 5.2 innings, allowing two runs on three hits and two walks while notching just one strikeout in Friday's win against the Royals.

The right-hander failed to make it out of the sixth inning for the eighth straight start, but was still able to earn his first win since April 26. Griffin's lone K was the second time this season that he's struck out just one -- the first came in his opening start of 2016 on April 8 against the Angels. Friday, he threw 66 of his 98 pitches for strikes while allowing no more than three hits for the fourth time in his 13 starts this year. He'll face a tough task in his next start Thursday when he travels to Baltimore to face the daunting Orioles lineup.

Rangers' Derek Holland: Throws pain-free bullpen session Friday
by RotoWire Staff | Special to CBSSports.com

Holland (shoulder) threw 42 pitches in a bullpen session Friday and was pleased with the results, T.R. Sullivan of MLB.com reports.

Holland remains on track to throw live batting practice Tuesday and continues to progress toward an activation from the 60-day DL when first eligible on August 20.

Rangers' Rougned Odor: Moves into franchise record books with multi-homer game
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Odor went 3-for-4 with two solo shots in Friday's victory over the Royals.

Odor became the third second baseman in Rangers history with 20-plus homers in a season, joining Ian Kinsler and Alfonso Soriano. His second career multi-homer game, both of which came this season, made him the leader in the team's clubhouse with 21 on the year. Over his last 162 games, Odor is slugging .500 with 32 home runs, 89 RBI and 100 runs. In other words, the 22-year-old is just flat out ridiculous at the plate.

Rangers' Colby Lewis: Could throw from mound late next week
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Lewis (lat) continues to throw from flat ground but could progress to mound work by late next week, T.R. Sullivaan of MLB.com reports.

Lewis is eligible to return from the 60-day DL on August 21, but his current rehab progress puts a return in early September the most likely scenario. Lewis was 6-1 with a 3.21 ERA and 1.02 WHIP before being injured.

Means we should definitely acquire another starter one would think

Apparently Texas is taking a look at Kurt Suzuki.

Just saw that too, and it had better be nothing more than gamesmanship on JD's part to make the Brewers think we're looking elsewhere for a catcher.

Because if not, seriously? Kurt Suzuki? Derek Norris? Are either of them that much better than Chirinos or Wilson that we should give up assets to get them? Norris is hitting .198 and Suzuki has always had a weak bat. I get that they would be somewhat of a defensive upgrade, but it's not like either one is Yadier Molina behind the plate.

I got to see the game last night. It was on instead of the damn cubs game. I mean show something different than the cubs. Fun game to watch. And I saw Moreland get a single. I think it might be the first time I have actually seen him get a hit this year. (remember I only get to see a game here and a game there).

Guys, we seem to have some ball players. Profar, Odor, Desmond are some great guys to watch. I mean no disrespect to others on team......Beltre.

He's in good company.

Billy burns to royals. Awfully quiet so far, with one day to go

Let them have him. He's such an annoying little spit fuck. Swings the bat like a god damn skirt.

Nats got Pirates closer. One less of the market. Maybe we get 2 from a team. Or maybe nothing. Would not be surprised if this thing drags out due to prices

Lucroy is out of the brewers lineup
Yep, and the Brewers' beat writer seems to think that it means a trade has likely been agreed upon because Lucroy was not scheduled to have a day off and he isn't injured.

Mets have supposedly submitted a 3-player offer including d'Arnaud and Nimmo. I'd like to think we could easily beat that offer while still holding on to most of our big names, but I guess we'll see.
