Any 2-3 prospects outside of Gallo, Profar, Mazara, Brinson, Tate, Mendez, Beras, and Ortiz. The usual suspects that everyone else wants.

I consider every one of those guys elite and, to your point earlier, they would rank at the top for almost every other club.
They can trade Beras as far as I am concerned.

Nats got Pirates closer. One less of the market. Maybe we get 2 from a team. Or maybe nothing. Would not be surprised if this thing drags out due to prices
Things pretty silent on the Rangers front. May mean something real is happening and posturing is coming to an end.

The thing that's kind of annoying about the way teams seem to try negotiating trades involving prospects is they go all out asking for a team's top prospects. So because we have an extremely strong farm system (mostly in position players) we say we're not giving you guys like Mazara, Profar, or Gallo, but we'll put guys like Demeritte etc. on the table, and teams turn their noses up and look elsewhere. Then they accept a trade for 2-3 prospects in another organizations top 7 or so happily. Never mind the fact that those prospects wouldn't even be in our top 15. I just don't get it.

Good points all. If these selling teams want mediocre players then let them. Showing Maz, Odor and Profar producing young AND in the majors says something about our farm development team. Which means sellers should look at our second tier as superior.

Yeah i hope so, i mean its gotta be a trade? He just had a day off 2 games ago too
Mets are making moves today. May be those discussions put Lucroy off the line up.

At a low price, absolutely. That would be a big power bat for the middle of the lineup.
We lose speed in the OF with Bruce. He would fit nicely in a DH spot but that is where Choo needs to go. Neither have the wheels left to play corner OF with the likes of Maz and Pro in the OF or even Rua.

And I hope Choo does go in the DH slot. Would like to see Maz stay in RF.

JD has made only a couple of trades I would describe as anything approaching terrible.

The Adrian Gonzalez trade, the Brandon McCarthy trade, the Brad Wilkerson trade, the Fielder trade were all pretty bad. I get that we had a huge log jam and had to unload Kinsler, the circumstances of the Fielder trade were not normal. I'm good with all of his other moves tho I think. He's made some real good ones in addition to the braves trade, the cliff lee trade got us our first round of post season success, the Bennie Molina trade was a steal, Hamels has been great. I'm sure I missed a few other good ones.

I believe JD himself says he regrets the Garza trade.

If they make a move, I hope they end up with Odorizzi. I'd hate for them to acquire Moore or Archer.
It really looks like Moore is becoming the pitcher he used to be.

Look at it this way. Just looks like we are putting all our resources in on pitching. No way we could swing in for both Lucroy and pitching.
Could have done a Lucroy-Guerra package deal, but oh well. We'll see what JD has planned.

Angels Designate Daniel Nava, Craig Gentry For Assignment

By Steve Adams | July 30, 2016 at 5:12pm CDT

The Indians announced today that they’ve designated outfielders Daniel Nava and Craig Gentry for assignment. Outfielder Shane Robinson has been reinstated from the DL in a corresponding move.

The news brings to end a left field platoon that was widely panned by Angels fans this offseason, as the Halos elected to pursue bargain options with rather than incur luxury tax penalization when addressing its left field vacancy. Nava and Gentry have both spent significant time on the DL this season, and neither was overly productive at the dish. Nava batted .235/.309/.303 in 136 plate appearances while Gentry slashed .147/.237/.176 in just 39 trips to the plate.

Steve apparently didnt bother proofreading the first 2 words even?
