Florida's Wyatt Langford would be the top college prospect in the country in most MLB draft classes
He finished the season with an impressive .373/.498/.784 slash with 21 home runs and nine steals.
Langford may fall a bit short of being a five-tool player -- LSU's Dylan Crews may be the only one in this draft who fits that description -- but he's a riveting prospect. Langford's swing is impressively compact for the power he generates, and he makes solid contact. He has 44 strikeouts to 56 walks this season, which marks the first time in his collegiate career he's walked more than he's struck out.
PREDICTION THIS MORNING BEFORE THE DRAFT
Langford is a strong candidate to go either first overall to the Pirates or third to the Tigers. And in either system, he would immediately emerge as the team's top prospect.

Langford is the #9 prospect in all of baseball, according to Kiley McDaniel. Just looked it up.

For comparison, Crews slots in at #10 and Skenes is at #13

So happy to have Wyatt Langford as a part of the Rangers. I never thought he would fall to us. I really think the Tigers are going to regret passing up both Langford and Jenkins.

I would concentrate on the three RP’s. Need a solid 7th/8th inning guy and a solid closer.
Smith and Chapman are your solid 8th inning guys and can sub in when the closer is not available.
Bring up Tepera after ASB and see how he does.
If Sborz doesn’t get it back together in the next 2 weeks include him as trade bait.

If they don't concentrate in all of those areas, I think our chances of postseason success is very dim.
