Jonathan Hernandez moved to Rangers bullpen

Woodward said the Rangers could use Hernandez in a starting role in September and let him pitch 2-3 innings as an extended opener.

“See how many pitches he can maintain it,” Woodward said. “If it starts to go south, we can replace him with somebody else. I don’t want to give up hope on [starting] because I’d really like for him to be a starter in the future. His stuff is so good. He has amazing stuff.”

Hernandez is the No. 12 ranked prospectin the Rangers’ farm system, according to MLB Pipeline. He has a sinking fastball that hits 95-98 miles per hour with a slider that was ranked as the best breaking pitch in the Carolina League last season. Now he’s in the Major Leagues.

I think we might see both Heineman and Santana at 1B a lot between now and the end of the year.

Since we already know about Odor and what he can do, he could DH, OF and play 2B part time. This would give more time for Solak to develop quicker at 2B. No sense giving most of the time to Odor at this point.

I don’t get why they can’t recognize a mistake.

Most people probably don’t want him off the team completely, but I doubt a majority of ranger fans actually want to see Roogie 150+ games a year.
