The latest MLB Pipeline mock draft has the Rangers taking the catcher, Henry Davis. Last week they had us taking Leiter. Jonathan Mayo did this one and Jim Callis did the one last week.

Seems pitching gave the team a chance to win and the offense kept coming up short. One or two hits could have won several games. close! very close!
IMO small ball still has it's place.

I've said this before and it remains true... the pitching has performed much better than I expected.

Agree and when the offense does nothing but strike out or hit into double plays then it may be time to try something different. Time Woody chips in and give them a chance to win. Pitchers can only do so much.

they chase way too damn much and hardly make contact. I might be remembering this wrong, but during the most recent Asterisks series, the radio guys mentioned that the Rangers were dead last in making contact.

guys like Pudge and Vlad Sr., they would chase all day but they could also make contact and get hits out of that. Vlad in particular could knock a double on anything from his eyeballs to his shoestrings.

I've seen way too many AB this season where it's straight down the middle and they don't swing, and then flail at something a foot outside.
