Sorry but that is twice he has tried to make it a point to go into someone instead of making sure he gets to the bag. One cost us a run the other night when a double play was given to the opponent. On this all he had to do was go straight into the bag, nothing fancy.
On the radio broadcast they thought it was pay back for Simmons kicking Gomez off of the bag in the previous inning.
I'm not saying that he wasn't at fault. But it's not as easy to stay on the bag as it looks when you're flying in that fast and the fielder has a big part of the bag blocked. Maybe Gomez just isn't as good as others in that regard. It's not a matter of him being stupid, though.
Not sure if he kicked him off, but he sure as hell leaned on him pretty hard with his legs. I just re-watched it and sure enough Simmons did play a role in that.
