What bullshit...how can you penalize the pitcher for the ump getting hit?

What a bunch of fucking horseshit....get your ass out of the way. You moved right the fuck into the ball...

With the Rangers leading 3-1 in the seventh inning, Oakland put it's first two batters on base. Mark Canha followed with a sharply hit grounder that seemed headed to second baseman Rougned Odor for the start of a doubleheader.

The ball never arrived. It struck Meals, who was stationed between the mound and the bag in his role of second-base umpire. Under rule No. 10.05 (a-5), that is a dead ball and a hit for the batter.

“He’s trying to get out of the way,” Banister said of Meals. “He doesn’t want to be in the way. That happens. It’s part of the game. He’s a quality umpire. I’m guessing that nobody feels worse than Jerry in that situation. ”

I lost my shit during the 7th. I've always known the rule, but seeing Meals dive into the ball just absolutely disgusted me with him. His instinct was to move directly in the path. Sucks that a pitcher is responsible for the ump getting tagged.

Probably good I didn't watch. At least the offense has woken up for a couple games.

Lot of nice offense but seeing Roogie get the walk off hit probably will do the kid a world of good. Hopefully that will build his confidence and get him back on the right track. :thumb:

Lets sure hope so. He's been a mess at the plate so far this season.

I don't ever expect him to be what I'd call a patient hitter. But in Fri game he had 4 AB and saw 9 pitches. Really doesn't give the opposing team any good reason to throw hit-able pitches to ya if they know you're gonna swing anyway.

Youth! Has always been dangerous but growing out of it may produce needed discipline

True enough.

He's not only a Ranger, he also seems to be a really good kid, with a great attitude. So I certainly am cheering for him on all accounts.

Facing a really tough arm today in Sonny Gray. Not that it takes a great arm, but must admit, we've certainly looked a lot better, offensively, the past few games.

2:05 game time.

Busby really enjoyed reminding us Opening Day didn't go well for Gallardo.

Busby is really good at doing this to Ranger fans.

I got tied up with neighbor stuff for the first few innings. Good to know I can count on y'all to keep us close when I'm not here.

Hahaha.....as if.

Really happy to see Gallardo pitching another nice game.

No one tell Kyle Seager that Busby has switched his man-crush to Sonny Gray.

There was an old song about, "Torn between two lovers." :pound:
