No More "Bullpen Failure" - maybe
JD has considered him before so why wouldn't it be reasonable to ask if he would be considered? Why would he?
Why the Bogar angst?

We'll get better play for sure. Apparently, from what I've been reading, some of the players wanted him out. But we should at least get a top ten pick. The higher the better though.Let's hope this managerial change doesn't mess up our draft the way the last one did. lol

Just got on. Two div titles and MVP. FIRED! Wow.
Never been that far back. Heart rendering seeing this season play out. Didn't see any heart in the Rays series. Maybe Bannister lost this team, I don't know. Been busy checking out teams with a little worse record than ours and hoping they win some. Detroit, SD, Cincy. But as Benny suggested, sure we'll start winning now and ruin that.Good to see you back.
Saw it. Kind of a shame. When the pitching was present there was no apparent problem or was there. Will never know all of it. If communications was the problem, could have been worked out I would think.See post #97
I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone on Bogars but the Rangers won 13 of last 16 at the end of 2014. I also liked how he handled pitching changes after watching Wash fail at this so many times. And his track record as a minor league manager was very good.Just never have understood why people put him on a pedestal.
Obviously it couldn't because from what I have read it was addressed but the problem remained.Saw it. Kind of a shame. When the pitching was present there was no apparent problem or was there. Will never know all of it. If communications was the problem, could have been worked out I would think.

You must be confusing me with them then. No pedestal placing by me. I just remember the team getting much better when he took over. That all might have been addition by subtraction though.Just never have understood why people put him on a pedestal.

He was considered before though so I think it makes sense to wonder if he will be considered again just a few years later.
Then one would think someone didn't want it to. Not that hard to do if tried.Obviously it couldn't because from what I have read it was addressed but the problem remained.
Sounds like it was decided a while back to make a change. With the team given to Banister, sounds as if wins and losses was not all involved.
This is what Jeff Wilson had written for the FT Star Telegram yesterday. Based on this Banister seemed not willing to change. Then one would think someone didn't want it to. Not that hard to do if tried.
I wonder if Banny wasn't fully on board with how he would be required to manage in a rebuilding mode versus one where he would optimistically manage as if the team was a contender?
