We'll get better play for sure. Apparently, from what I've been reading, some of the players wanted him out. But we should at least get a top ten pick. The higher the better though.

Never been that far back. Heart rendering seeing this season play out. Didn't see any heart in the Rays series. Maybe Bannister lost this team, I don't know. Been busy checking out teams with a little worse record than ours and hoping they win some. Detroit, SD, Cincy. But as Benny suggested, sure we'll start winning now and ruin that.

I am not agreeing or disagreeing with anyone on Bogars but the Rangers won 13 of last 16 at the end of 2014. I also liked how he handled pitching changes after watching Wash fail at this so many times. And his track record as a minor league manager was very good.
Bogar was a minor league manager for three different franchises, compiling a 362-266 mark. In his five seasons, Bogar's teams reach the league's championship round four times.
He was named manager of the year in 2004 with the Houston Astros' rookie league team and in 2006 with the Cleveland Indians' Double-A squad.

You must be confusing me with them then. No pedestal placing by me. I just remember the team getting much better when he took over. That all might have been addition by subtraction though.

yeah, 16 games is far too small a sample size to have any understanding of what kind of manager Bogar is.

The "timing" seems to be questionable to a lot of people online.

The news is out there, not really sure why it would need to be put off. Get it done and over with.

Sounds like it was decided a while back to make a change. With the team given to Banister, sounds as if wins and losses was not all involved.

This is what Jeff Wilson had written for the FT Star Telegram yesterday. Based on this Banister seemed not willing to change.
Sources said that players over the past four seasons have described communication issues with him since he replaced Ron Washington after the 2014 season.

Some of it seems insignificant, such as players not being told in advance that they are getting an off day or being told ahead of time that they are getting an off day only to arrive to the ballpark in the lineup.

Starting pitchers have gone days between starts not certain of when they were pitching next and how to prepare.

Players, though, rely on their routines to get them through each game or start, and they certainly don’t consider those issues to be insignificant. Some have felt that their concerns fell on deaf ears when presented to Banister.

I was very puzzled by if we were rebuilding as stated by club Banny’s philosophy to play Choo so much stating it would antagonize clubhouse by sending wrong message. Thought message was we were rebuilding
