Garcia 5th, can't remember him batting that low in the order before
Nor I but Woody shuffles the line up almost daily. Perhaps he thinks Adolis is a little tight and tired and needs to relax a little. I don't know but I'll talk to him and let you know. lol

Good news I guess. Got to cheer for him.

Guess that remains to be seen. Woody has to make a decision who he wants.
Just wondering. They mentioned signing 1 or 2 SP and we have Allard, Alexy, Dunning, Hearn plus we’ve mentioned 3 or 4 others as potential 2022 SP’s. It’s a nice dilemma but

How many Free Agents and Player-obtain-thru-trade are you guys looking to get? I thought we were talking 2 maybe 3 but y’all are talking 2 OF’ers, catcher, SS, 3B, SP’ers, etc.

I thought the ideal was to sign a couple or so and use the other 23 or 24 spots to see what the prospects can do

I would be ok with 1 OF, 1 SS, 1-2 SP and a catcher through trade.

Maybe we trade some of that pitching depth to the Royals for MJ Melendez

And ……

Round Rock carried a no-hitter into the 7th, when Matt Davidson lined Jake Lemoine's first pitch for a single.

The same hitter showing such MLB promise perhaps

We have about a dozen games left. Hard to see anybody who has stood out minus Garcia.
To me we just see who we can get for lengthy control if real good. I would put IKF over Solak and am definitely not married to Lowe as a keeper. He is doing ok comparatively but we need an elite bat at 1B. Our OPS aaa a team is pretty pathetic

The Royals fans are probably wondering if they can trade some of their depth for Jung and/or Winn.

Just wondering how we keep Calhoun Ibanez and Solak. They all are subpar defensively and have limited spots to play

Ibanez is easily the most affordable but without great defense you really need to be real good offensively and they are just not that great. Ibanez has the best OPS of the three

Have to think some nontenders could be happening on their club this off-season

I don’t mean Arihara or Folty
I mean someone of value from our deep pitching depth. Especially if we sign 2 SP. We would have room to deal a guy for a catcher which isn’t on the FA market really.

Like Otto, Allard, Yerry, Ronny I’m sure it would need to be a 3(us) for 2(Royals) swap to make it work out evenly.

Otto, Solak or Yonny(Royals like guys like this) and Ian Moller (recently drafted catcher that is about 2-3 years away, perfect for the timing to replace Salvador Perez as everyday catcher(potentially))
If not Ian Moller then another guy they like that fits their teams needs.

For

MJ Melendez(#5 prospect)
And a guy like Darryl Collins who might be someone in 2-3 years. Showing a good eye at the plate and power starting to develop. Only just finished his age 19 season.

One thing we must do. Decide what year we are shooting for to be in contention. Could be we are putting the cart before the horse. Is it necessary we run out and sign 2,3,or 4 FA if 2024 is our goal. 2022 is still time to examine players before making any sudden decisions. Good chance Lowe or IKF might work out. I am being a little conservative based on time at hand and how much that is before we start signing big contracts. If we have time, let's keep looking at what we have. If not, let's act.

Ibanez and Solak can both play several positions. They are very versatile.

There is room for all three next year. It is the year after next when they could be squeezed out.
