This is a good reason not to wait until the last day to make a trade. First Kelley and now Martin are injured.

The return on Stroman seemed to be pretty weak.

I’m thinking it was what I was saying in June. Buyers market.

There are just way too many teams trying to tank Astros style. The rangers had better not accept a low ball offer for minor or anyone else on this team who is good.

At some point you just have to say the market is what it is. It is like signing a FA. If you try to avoid overpaying in FA then you are deciding not to get a top FA.

The reaction on mlb trade rumors and elsewhere is that the Mets deal for Stroman was a steal..... a steal for the Mets.

Reaction from who? Fans or folks who aren't biased. Those two guys Toronto got become 2 of their top 4 or 5 pitching prospects. Stroman is having a good year this year, but his ERA last year was over 5.

Apparently, there was also bad blood between the Blue Jay's management and Stroman.

They are really high in Toronto's system also. The top 100 is hard to crack. If we got two guys similar to our 4th and 5th best players in our system for Minor I would be very satisfied. They wouldn't be top 100 guys though and that would be fine. Give me another Winn and another Palumbo for Minor 8 days a week.

I'm wondering if Martin is really hurt. I think they're trying trade Leclerc, and not a good showing. Why leave him out there for 40 pitches. You had other pitchers in the bullpen and tomorrow is a off day.
