I can’t imagine that he is a candidate to be sent down. All the guy does is hit the crap out of the ball and get on base. Deshields doesn’t deserve it either because he’s been great since we demoted him and brought him back up.

I’d DFA Guzman at this point. It would also free up some playing time for forsythe and Santana who deserve it.

That's insane. Did you know he's the highest rated defensive 1st baseman in baseball? Granted, his bat has some holes in it. But you can always fill holes.....I think we've seen enough of him to have some faith he'll improve with some time in Nashville.

Looked up and it was Oakland for Chavez I was thinking of.

Thanks.....Somewhere in the back of my mind I'm remembering this now that you said it.

Well we won this against a subpar team but we used a converted pen guy who looked like nails. A guy making his Ranger debut, an ex closer missing some of his mojo and a flamed out phenom extinguished from his SP role but still can and did give up the long ball.

I will take the win

Thank you donaldson. I was waiting to see if someone would say something about the crap always being given to Guzman. He takes up a lot of space at 1st. High, low , wide, whatever. Yes, he has struggled at the plate but let him have time to work it out. Many posters can't decide if we are in a rebuild or a pennant chase. This is when they need to get their feet wet and not in the minors. I do like what Forsythe did at 3rd tonight. If he was to replace Cabrera then so be it as he is not a part of the future. I like Santana and I can understand people tired of Odor. I am not understanding what his deal at the plate is but it is more than many who keep talking about him chasing the high pitch. His pop off the bat is just not there like it has been in years past. So I can see Santana playing more for him a letting Odor sit some or if anyone could benefit at AAA it would be him.

Chavez has been rock solid since April 30th other than that blip in Boston. Just 2 earned runs since that date and when you consider the other earned run was in a 4 inning stint that is really impressive. Once he started keeping his pitches down he has been tough.
