I think we are pitching these guys so when we DFA theM they don’t get picked up and we can keep them for minor league depth

FWIW. Trevino is a keeper. Savvy move to get the guy at 3rd

I think tonight we are getting a good glimpse of what the Opening Day lineup will look like next year, with the exception of Gallo in CF instead of Santana.

I know more than the ranger fans who inexplicably go to the games and look at their phones the whole time.
Haha! Especially the ones who have great seats right behind home plate.

That may be what our lineup looks like next year more often than not
I was thinking the same thing and posted so before I saw your post. Probably means Rendon is not pursued because we have to have a place for Solak. Odor will start at 2B until the contract is up, unless they extend him between now and rhen.

I see lots of the soccer mom / MILF crowd in the first deck who barely watch the field. Most of them watch the huge screen in right field more than anything.

Valid point wondering if they shoehorn Solak at 3B wanting to keep Odor at 2B. We have all the pieces to make us a mediocre team next year.
Looks like some trades are needed

This isn’t related to this game or the rays. Just a general observation.

Has anyone looked at the projected pitching matchups lately?

In both Oakland series, we are throwing Lynn, minor, and Burke at them. Arguably our best pitchers.

In the last series with Houston, a 2 game series down there. They are throwing both Cole and verlander at us.

I could be wrong, but it seems like we see Verlander every single time we play Houston.

As for Oakland, I’m not sure if I want to fight and keep Oakland out of the playoffs. They are probably going to be 7-12 against the Astros. The A’s might have a punchers chance at beating them if it’s a 5 game series.

The Astros getting another World Series will either directly or indirectly hurt the rangers. I know we can’t stop it, but we could try to put teams in the playoff field who can.

What is the Astros record against the rays and the Indians?

With all the pitchers we have now I am surprised Gibault is out there for a 2nd inning. I felt fortunate with his lousy command he didn't walk anyone in that first inning of work.

I hear they have offered Roogie a 3 year extension at 45 million and a bull, a cow, 2 sheep and a pair of goats.

My son and I have great seats for Saturday but I may know a little more than some fans........IDK. Anyway it will be the last game we attend at this park, gotta go one last time. Not paying the prices for the Red Sox or Yankees series, so this is my last hurrah there.
