Let's see if the hyper-extended BP did us any good.

The Rangers also announced that for the first time a Futures Camp comprised of about 40 players will take place at Dr Pepper Ballpark in Frisco from Sunday, September 22-Sunday, October 6. That team will hold workouts in Frisco and will play a series of games against four-year universities and junior colleges located in Texas.

That schedule will include two games versus 2019 NCAA Division I Tournament participants at Globe Life Park in Arlington, Thursday, September 26 against Dallas Baptist University and Tuesday, October 1 versus TCU. The DBU game will begin approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the Rangers-Boston Red Sox contest, a 1:05 p.m. start. The Rangers Instructional Leaguers will play TCU at 6:00 p.m. on October 1. Admission and parking to both games is free of charge. Concessions will be available.

We’re playing what I call “ real competition” for the rest of the season. The results against the orioles were fun, but that team is so awful that it shouldn’t tell you anything about our players. Good or bad that is.

That is just the way the game goes. Was not going to repeat a Washism here. But Tampa Bay the last time I looked was like 1 or 2 in pitching so that should tell you that everyone struggles against their pitching. And everyone should have better success against the Orioles. The thing is we couldn't score against Elmer Fudd in August. Everybody was looking great against us. So I was glad to see the offense come to life.

No worries, he's got his bases covered, he'll complain whether Odor plays well or poorly

Shawn Kelley On 2020 Plans

For Rangers reliever Shawn Kelley, it’s Texas or bust in 2020. He tells MLB.com’s T.R. Sullivan that he’ll retire if the organization decides against exercising a $2.5MM club option for his services.

Kelley says he’s comfortable with the Rangers and would “love to come back and do another year.” Otherwise, he’s happy to hang ’em up and “drift off to the sunset.” (He’d do so with a $250K buyout as a parting gift.)

Fairly certain JD will pick up his option
