Former 2010 first round draft pick of the Rays, Josh Sale, is currently doing well for Round Rock after being out of baseball for six years. He crushed it in indy ball last year and so far has a 1.023 OPS in 56 at bats for Round Rock.

He has a lot in common with Josh Hamilton besides the first name. The same man, Roy Silver, worked with both of them as well as with Matt Bush. Sale read Hamilton's book while he was trying to fight his own terrible addiction battles. That being said he was out of baseball longer than Josh Hamilton, and he is older than Hamilton while trying to make his comeback.

He plays the OF and 3B.
Well, I put the curse on this guy. He had the Golden Sombrero last night. It never fails. Lol

why does this board like homeruns so much?
There was a legendary student in San Antonio and only he knew the answer and he swore he would never reveal the answer.

I am fine with a longer term guy this year. Although, they could surprise is and take Parada.

Termarr Johnson taking over at 2B in 2026 or 2027 is fine with me.

On the other hand, if we trade for a Comletitive Balance pick and take Melendez, he could be here in late 2024 or 2025.

From an article by Levi Weaver addressing some of the problems that some of our pitching prospects have went through this year:

Meanwhile, Leiter’s first year of pro ball has been more about learning to overcome challenges than it has been about putting up gaudy numbers. He’s 2-6 with a 5.36 ERA, having struck out 60 and walked 28 in 48 1/3 innings for the Frisco RoughRiders.

General manager Chris Young, speaking earlier this month, said he wasn’t worried, and that giving Leiter a challenge was all part of the plan.

“My guess is if he started in High A, he would have been absolutely dominant and would have been at Double A pretty quickly anyway,” Young said. “I’m not sure there would have been, developmentally, much for him to achieve there.”

While Leiter’s ERA isn’t aesthetically pleasing, Young considers that an “antiquated metric,” insisting that he’s perfectly content with the season Leiter is having, based on, for instance, the high number of strikeouts and the low number of hits (44). So where has the challenge come from?

“The walks, the command, not throwing enough strikes,” Young said. “That’s part of maturity. His stuff is really, really good. And there have been moments of dominance, followed up with moments of inexperience and youth. They’re natural. I really am happy he’s going through this. Ideally, every player experiences a good level of adversity before they get to the big leagues. Because you know they’re gonna experience it here. I think that’s part of development.”

Re draft pick infielder or OF. I want a guy with high upside low swing and mis, superior defense if in OF. Draft seems riskier due to most talent is in HS. We need to hit an elite position player at some point
