They also had the still-effective Roy Oswalt- Halladay, Lee, Hamels, and Oswalt was just a ridiculous 1-4 and made the Phillies think they had all but guaranteed themselves a World Series. Can't say that I blame them either. But it just goes to show that a dominant rotation isn't enough to win it all. One or two bad games by your stud starters and you're done in a series. SF beat them with Lincecum, Cain, a young Bumgarner, and timely hitting.If that trade guarantees a World Series for Texas? I pull the trigger all day. But there are no guarantees. Wasn't that long ago Philly got knocked out of the NLCS with a rotation of Lee, Hamels, and Halladay.
