My argument is that there are issues with the offense. I know you think they are rocking and rolling, but they aren't from my vantage point.

Are they "clicking" like they were earlier in the season? No. But they are still producing enough runs for professional MLB pitchers to win games.

Versus LHPs (of note Chirinos has a 134 wRC+ in only 16 plate appearances)

Looking at the stats, one thing is for absolute certain:

The Rangers would be completely boned without Desmond here.

Those are all individual parts of a whole though. As a unit they get the job done more often than not despite individual struggles here and there.

The offense would be lights out if they had a few more longer ABs and wore down pitchers a bit more.

Agreed, he's essentially our 2nd best hitter against both RHPs and LHPs, and easily our best overall

1) Fielder isn't one of our 9 best hitters versus RHPs or LHPs,

2) Profar has no business in there versus LHPs

3) Rua is overexpose versus RHPs, not terrible but not as good as Profar

4) Moreland is actually the best option at 1B versus LHPS/RHPs sadly

Other than that, the best 9 hitters are actually pretty static

The context of the original statement was around Profar realizing he was a high profile trade target. He also mentioned he would welcome a trade if it improves the Rangers while also allowing him to play SS next season. Not very controversial for a talented young player to want to actually play his gifted position for a ballclub next year.

I think it was a classy way for Profar to tell the FO 'crap or get off the pot.' Whether he realized it or not, it was an effective comment.

I was going to mention that last night

I read all this today and it seems we are exactly where we were when I started reading it. Glad everyone has gotten to speak their peace. Now what the fuck are we gonna do about SP and a BP with its own issues?
Question is do you want to do something crazy like Boston did in trading their top pitching prospect for a guy like Pomeranz who is really an unknown as he is at the most innings pitched since he came into the bigs in 2011. To me if we are going to give them one of our deluxe options it has to be for more than A pitcher. There needs to be multiples in the deal (SP and a BP like the Phillies trade last year). And it needs to include guys like DDJ/Cordell and a guy like Guzman (don't really want to lose him but we can't hold on to everybody) because I do not want another player who is not able to play because the position is covered. There is no trade with Profar and someone like Gallo or Maz and so on. It is just one of those guys and then a number of others.

I have already said my piece about him a month ago. Love the guy, his attitude, team play, just goes about his business. No real horsing around.

AOL as a company was around in the late 80's. They offered various dial-in services like education and gaming to their users in 1991, but they didn't offer access to the Internet to the general public until a few years later.

So if you want to say that you were dialing in to an online connection 25 years ago, again, congrats to you. I'm not sure how that has any relevance to a discussion about baseball on a message board in 2016.

We did have Stratomatic back then:

Would be nice to have 22 HRs and 67 RBIs from one of the DH/1B spots.

They really do. How could you have Clayton Kershaw, a seemingly endless stack of money, a big market to attract FA's and never make it past the first round of the playoffs? They suck.
They have been 'retooling' since the 2009 offseason.

When I say "your organizational depth" it is referring to the Rangers organization in the 3rd person possesive since I do not actually work for the front office, but have been a fan since 1977. Your "Aggieness" is showing BTW.

And yes, JTA, the manager absolutely has the ability to put Pujols on base in that situation with 1st base open by simply calling for an intentional ball 4 once the count goes to 3-1. Likely the culprit here was Mr. Lohse as he simply "missed" his location. Watch Chirinos immediately after contact is made. He didn't even watch the ball. He knew Lohse had badly missed. That is poorly managed baseball. Pure and simple. And IMO, that is on Lohse...and Banister.
