I love being mostly impartial watching games. I am pulling for the Sens but could really care less who wins. Adds a nice perspective to close calls. I am not wearing my black and gold glasses.

Wait a sec, did Henrik Lundqvist actually claim that there's a conspiracy at play to have the Ottawa Senators advance over the New York Rangers?

That's the funniest thing I've heard all day.

Well I will say that the Rangers style of play is not particularly marketable. I'm not saying that I believe a there is a conspiracy, I'm just saying.

Their market makes them marketable, especially in the playoffs, regardless of how they play.

The style of play may not be, but the crest on the sweater sure is. Biggest media market in the US and Canada, plus one of the most popular teams in the states.

Lundqvist called the ruling an "absolute joke."

"When it's goalie interference and a kick and they still call it a goal, that scares me," he told reporters after making 25 saves en route to the team's series-tying victory.

The 30-year-old netminder also hinted at collusion in comments that were similar to those of coach John Tortorella after the Winter Classic. Tortorella was fined $30,000 by the league for his remarks.

"Someone wanted them back in the game, for sure," said Lundqvist.

Tortorella, who has been docked $50,000 in total for critical comments about the officiating this season, declined to comment when asked about the ruling after the game.

"I'll take the next question."

This is all true, I guess I was speaking in terms of attracting new fans.

As far as whether or not it was kicked in, I don't think there is conclusive evidence eithe way so the call on the ice should stand. Personally I would prefer to see the rule changed that if a guy is in the crease and makes a kicking motion at the puck that it should be no goal whether he touches it or not. It's pretty dangerous for goalies to have guys kicking at pucks in the crease. And I'm not referring to this incident specifically but in general, it could interfere with a goalies ability to make a save even if he doesn't make contact. Kind of tough to focus on making a save when you're trying to avoid getting sliced by someone's skate blade. That being said, I think a strong case can be made for goaltender interference here. Perhaps a make-up call for the very questionable goalie interference call from earlier in the game.

Was absolutely a kick-in, but it doesn't matter because nobody got hurt and the Rangers still won.

Unfortunately.

Michalek might be suspended for game 7 for kicking at Dan Girardi

:eek2:

Re, Michalek: There is precedence for Game 7 kicking suspensions. See Shayne Corson/Eric Cairns, 2002.

Good. Wasn't that along the boards? I thought I saw that. That shit is no fucking joke. In my mind kicking at a player while he is down, or at any time, is worse than a fucking blind side hit.
