Good to hear. I've been patiently waiting for this kid to start busting a move, and that AA start qualifies as a move buster. I can see the Sox giving him some innings in next year's spring training to see how he performs, then simply take it from there.

This may be the crappiest division in the Bigs, but no arguing that the AL Central presently is home to the tightest race going on. 1 game separates 3 teams. Dat be tight!!

Might be an odd time in the middle of a tight divisional race to post our top 30 prospects list, but I figured, WTF I'm bored so I figured why not:

Interesting to see that 9 of our top 10 are between the ages of 19-22, and even the oldest is only 23. I only use the word interesting because we've had numerous players over the years in that same age category and same top 10 bracket, only to slip as a few years went by. So I'm not holding my breath that these are definitive future stars for the Good Guys. But it's nonetheless encouraging.

A few disappointments with respect to that slippage:

#13, Yoelqui Cespedes - Remember when he was practically the next call up?
#14, Jared Kelley - Still have high hopes, but I thought he'd be considered for AA ball by now
#17, Matthew Thompson - Once highly ranked, altho as Mingo pointed out, he had a solid outing in his last start, so maybe things are looking up for the kid.

He’s a plus defender still and decent hitter. Huge upgrade imo

I'm excited about Carlos Perez getting an MLB opportunity with the Sox. He has 17 Hrs with Charlotte this season and strikes out less than 10% 0f the time. He has very few passed balls - and throws out 34% of runners. He's a RH, but hits righties and lefties at the same rate. Perez is 25 yrs old and has been a Sox signee since he was 17.

Sorry to see Grandal go down like he did, but the future at Catcher for the Sox is now.

Never want to see someone get hurt but getting a guy who is hitting like a pitcher out of the lineup isn't hurting the team
