This particular fleeting thought - is not so perplexing. Grandal's value is at the plate - get a catcher who can help hold guys on - throw them out and catch balls in the dirt. Occasional power for that Catcher would be nice for his offensive contribution. Grandal hits as a DH and catches a 1/3 of the games or less.

This will not happen because TLR doesn't feel like he is in charge of anything unless he can rotate the DH around - due to any number of variables or factors.

Personally - I find it hard to take when the ball skips by Grandal and runners get free bases. Giolito and Cease don't want to throw to him either - since they preferred Collins over Grandal as their catcher. And- I say this and I'm a fan of Grandal.

wow! i recall a bunch of people on here who thought grandal was a great fielding catcher because of his 'framing' capabilities. turns out i was right all along that he sucks behind the plate! go figure!

Grandal is going to catch a lot more than 1/3 of his games...Probably like 3/4 of them. Giolito and Cease will have to compromise.

Sox: Kimbrel since traded for AJ Pollock. Pollock currently hitting .184
Cubs: Heuer out for the season+ with TJ surgery, Madrigal hitting .215 and already with 11 K's

Bottom line: Still early for Nicky Two Strikes and AJ to turn their seasons around, respectively. But so far this trade has been pretty much a washout for both sides.

That trade will always be bullsh*t. That loser Kimbrel lost us more than he gave us. And Madrigal/Heuer could at this moment-despite what you post here in terms of temporary output-give us a better haul than what we got for that prick. Dumbest sh*t ever.
