forecast for Saturday's game looks interesting:

in the 24 hours prior to kickoff, expect about 8-10 inches of snow, with probably another 2-3 inches during the game.
temps will be in the high 20s with a steady wind about 15 mph.
sounds like it is time to have a superbowl in Buffalo!

A snowbowl! I like the sounds of that.

Mariota is a non-story as far as I can see, unless something unexpected turns up. Mariota is an ok QB having an ok season. His contract is for $6.75M this year with a $12M option in 2023. He hasn't justified the 2023 contract and the Falcons want to release him before any of it becomes guaranteed. According to footballoutsiders dot com the Falcons are just a 13.9% chance to qualify for the playoffs and they're unlikely to get much further if they do. Mariota could probably continue to play if the Falcons were aggressively pursuing a Super Bowl appearance. However, it makes more sense to get Mariota healthy enough to release and it's a good opportunity to give their rookie QB some live-fire playing time. The Falcons need to figure out if they have a potential high end rookie QB or whether they'll need to pursue other options. Ridder played QB in a similar style, and to similar effect, in preseason. This shouldn't be a huge adjustment for the Falcons. I'm sure Mariota is more interested in his expanding family than his few remaining weeks with the Falcons. No reason for Mariota to be on the bench or even take up an active roster spot.

that isn't enough snow to shut down the town. The major roads will all be kept relatively clear, so most of the people with tickets will show up.
I was joking. I know 8 inches of snow in Buffalo is just a light dusting.

True story. 2001ish Las Vegas, I get a call that I need to pick up my son from school. My response was "What did he do? They replied nothing, were closing due to snow. I get to the school and there's maybe an inch of snow. I've been to Buffalo in February, you all know snow.

Cowboys fans, how does it feel to yet again have the second best QB in the division? Short-lived couple of years you had with Dak as the best.

Oh shit I remember the last time a crazy Eagles fan started a conversation like this in 2016!
By next year this thread could be epic LOL

Even if the weather was perfect, or they went indoors, I don't think Buffalo has the infrastructure to host a Super Bowl.

Or the joke went over my head, because that happens sometimes.

Good luck with the local golf courses that the NFL demands access to.

you are correct.

1) I've read elsewhere that the NFL has no plans to ever have a Super Bowl in outdoor winter weather.

2) Buffalo doesn't have the infrastructure. I read that the NFL requires hotels within 60 miles of the stadium to hold something like 35% of stadium capacity. If you include Niagara Falls and Rochester, they might meet that requirement. But things like rental cars and restaurants would be completely overwhelmed.

Our youngest was in Chicago for a school trip with orchestra when the happened. The weather in Chicago was worse than Vegas and the kids on the trip missed out on the snow day. The snow day was the next day after pretty much all of the snow melted. In my area we had about 4". My normal 10 minute commute from work took almost 60 minutes.

I think that was the first snow day in over 30 years for the entire Clark County School District.

this has always been a dumb analogy.
When you buy slaves. Someone else got the money. Not the Slave.

but if we want to think of how this profession works.
After checking out their bodies. Their measurements. Their potential & their gifts. They get paid well by dirty old men.

These Mother Fuckers are prostitutes!!!

Not enough 5 star restaurants in the Buffalo area for the rich folk and of course these rich folk have no appeal to go to Buffalo.

I agree with this 100% and I've always liked Troy. Class act, but that analogy is something a player like Adrian Peterson or Le'Veon Bell would say. Guys with the common sense and intelligence to get into a boxing match while they still are trying to hang onto an NFL career.

Troy Vincent is smart and good at his job and comments like that are beneath him.

Has there ever been slaves that trained hard to get in the slave auction? The average NFL players makes 16 x what the average worker makes. Remind me, how much money slaves made per year?

Don’t you have to apply to be in the draft?

You have to be 3 years removed from High School and I believe use up your college eligibility.

Now of course nothing stops a person from just being a walk on free agent, but it seems that doesn't happen too often. Probably with football because the sport is so complex teams rarely look for folks that haven't gone draft eligible.
