well that is a pretty low bar LOLHe’s third alltime in passing yards for the Bears. And fourth in wins as a starter. (Trubisky is 5th, which is pretty damn funny)

bears are one of the few teams to never have a qb throw for 4000 yds in a season.well that is a pretty low bar LOL
i was,nt sure.Pretty sure they are the only team to have never had a 4,000 yard passer.
some qb salaries today would covered whole teams in the 70s.For comparison:
The Packers are committed to paying Love $140.3M over the next 3 seasons. If they want out at that point they're on the hook for another $20M. The total cost for 5 years will be $231M.
The Jaguars are committed to paying Lawrence $114M over the next 3 seasons. If they want out at that point they're on the hook for another $41M. The total cost for 5 years will be $202M.
The Dolphins are committed to paying Tagovailoa $149.17M over the next 3 seasons. If they want out at that point they're on the hook for another $3M. The total cost for 5 years will be $235M.
Herbert is a star and won't be held back and certainly may indeed be breaking records if he ever gets an OL and receiving corps at the same time. Gus Williams and Dobbins aren't going to be holding him back.yeah I am too.
We will see the type of person he is. Can he keep his ego in check?
He wont be breaking records as an individual under Harbaugh (I suspect)
but can get better as a player as a whole.
Or does he get upset & feel like he is being held back?
I think it will be a positive, but there is a scenario where it isnt.

might have been the greatest FA signing of all time!Probably more like early 90's. In 1992 when the Packers signed Reggie White the deal was for $4million per year.

oj probably had the biggest salary in the 70s or namath.less than half a million i bet.Probably more like early 90's. In 1992 when the Packers signed Reggie White the deal was for $4million per year.
there were players in the 70's with a 2nd job during the offseason. Most made 10's of thousands not 100's of thousands.oj probably had the biggest salary in the 70s or namath.less than half a million i bet.

In the probowl back then they played to win because they got a bigger check for the winners. Which was like 17k or some shit.
that is why ernie ladd and wahoo became wrestlers in the nwa. This is totally true. Plenty of players just went and got regular jobs because the pay was better. Probably should put some perspective on this as the minimum wage in 1975 was $2:10/hour.... so $10k was a lot of money back then...more than double the minimum wage...minimum wage was $4335/year. damn...
Love is the luckiest man in the world. He turned about 8-9 games into 4 years 220 million.
love carved up dallas in dallas and damn near beat sf for what its worth.I was about to post the same thing. He didn't look like a $220 million QB in the playoffs. This was premature IMO, as was he Hurts extension that few questioned even though he has had one great season and 2 that were not good enough. He folllowed that up with another disappointing season last year.
I commented at the time that Wentz was more accomplished when he signed his extension that everyone here was critical of. But that came years later, I did not recall all that much criticism at the time and I sure didn't see many questioning the Hurts extension.
