Wouldn't mind seeing the Commanders be the Cinderella story with the happy ending.
That may replace Trubisky-over-Mahomes storyline for Bears fans to replace it with the Williams-over-Daniels if Wsh wins.

Thought there was some pre- and post-draft buzz that Daniels would most likely be better in year 1, but almost all still considered Williams to be the better long-term franchise QB.

SB ring shifts things a bit, but shouldn't knock Chicago process on this one. Trubs had a whole bunch of red flags and wasn't the same caliber prospect as Williams

here's a topic of discussion if you'd like while we're standing around waiting for the Super Bowl--

Top Rushing teams (YPG) 2024
1 Ravens *
2 Eagles *
3 Commanders *
4 Buccaneers *
5 Packers *
6 Lions *
7 Cards
8 Colts
9 Bills*
10 Falcons
11 Steelers *
12 Niners

8 of the top 12 teams, and all 6 of the top 6, made the playoffs. Of the 4 remaining, only the Chiefs are not on this list.
only 5 of the top 12 passing offenses made the playoffs- and two of those (Detroit and Balt.) were also on the rushing list.

11 of the 12 were in position to make the playoffs going into week 18, only SF was eliminated.

RB, and the rushing offense in general, is reclaiming it's rightful place in the league.

UFA's - 2025
Aaron Jones
Nick Chubb
N. Harris
JK Dobbins
Jav. Williams
AJ Dillon

A bare minimum 3-5 guys coming in the draft that could realistically be expected to be day 1 lead backs
Jeanty
Hampton
Sampson
K. Johnson
James
Both Ohio State RB's
Neal
Smith
Skatebo

I dunno that any of the UFA's are going to score big deals judging by the incoming class..many may need to wait until after the draft and hope a team with a need didn't score a decent pick- but there's gonna be some shake ups on depth charts on multiple teams next year. But teams are taking the position seriously again- its not longer the dime a dozen approach- unless your coach is a Shanny disciple.

gonna be an interesting next 6 months or so for the position in general

McVay comes from that tree

He's a workhorse RB coach, as are the off-shoot branches of his portion of that coaching tree

GB, Vikes, Cincy, Jags(TB OC), ATL

^But not sure any of those coaches require significant investment to get a lot of juice from that position.

One could argue Rams would be even better if Kyren had any HR ability.

GB, ATL, MIN, TB all had decent investment in RB whether draft capital or FA signings. where CIN with Brown and Kyren for McVay are really the only "cheap" RBs excelling in this off-shoot.

8 of the top 12 [rushing teams] teams, and all 6 of the top 6, made the playoffs.
Deliberately splitting hairs here (since there's nothing else to do), but here's those 8 playoff rushing team ranks without the scrambling QB numbers:

2432 Lions minus Goff (who had the least rush yards)
2418 Eagles minus Hurts
2413 Packers minus Love (2nd-least rush yards among QB in this list)
2274 Ravens minus Jackson
2158 Buccaneers minus Mayfield
1728 Commanders minus Daniels
1722 Steelers minus Fields & Wilson
1699 Bills minus Allen

Ravens go from 1 to 6
Eagles go from 2 to 3
Commanders drop from 3 to 24
Bucs drop from 4 to 9
Lions jump from 6 to 2
Packers bump from 5 to 4
Steelers drop from 11 to 25
Bills drop from 9 to 27

Yes, my numbers are skewed because I didn't extract QB numbers from the other 24 teams. :what:
I just wanna see Treff's head explode. :exploding:

And, somewhat surprisingly given their coaching tree lineage, Bengals, 3rd worst rushing team, Rams 9th from the bottom- even though, as you said, Kyren and Brown themselves weren't terrible.

To be fair, only three fell out of the top 12, one of which was barely in to begin with. :)

I'll gladly admit, having a 'running' QB is a godsend to a run game production, even if the QB himself doesn't rush a ton. The threat neutralizes the edges, makes life much easier when they run the ball for real. Point granted, no arguments
