In a first year superflex dynasty

No rules/thoughts put into tanking guidelines, a few first time dynasty players, but i figured not my circus, I'm just one of the monkeys here.

Several non-playoff teams failed to even put their bench guys in to replace bye weeks/injuries so I brought it up.

No one getting feathers ruffled but having discussions.

Pushing to use Max Points For instead of W-L record or Points For to order the non-playoff teams for draft. Currently going by record, then Points for tiebreaker, rewarding the teams that stopped playing, and most everyone agrees that tweaks need to occur

Thoughts, suggestions, etc welcome from all
My personal feeling is that draft position for non-playoff teams should be determined this way:

1) fewest inactive roster spots over the last four weeks of the regular fantasy season
2) if tied above (they should all be tied at ZERO!), points divided by max points over the last four weeks of the regular fantasy season

Nothing's perfect, but I think that would minimize shenanigans while still benefitting the truly weak teams.

@SmokingMonkey. There always the NBA lottery type system

If the 'honor system' isn't too be trusted, that's the route I like to go with

That was brought up, but only one guy was really a lotto fan.

Not sure what the NBA equivalent would be, but this past year the NHL "lottery" system bypassed several more deserving franchises and awarded the top pick to Chicago. It was peculiar, since it coincided with a primo generational prospect that would REALLY help the overall league if that kid played in a major market vs some nowhere-ville USA hockey town

We took a poll and majority have voted to switch to using Max Points For to position the non-playoff teams to remove anyone trying to game their W-L record for draft positioning, forcing people to trade away assets if they want to "tank" for draft. I like it, even the teams that run into bad scheduling luck still end up with a top 6 pick, the really shit teams should all get the top 2-3 spots and hopefully turn their roster around in a season or two

Don't get me started on tanking.

D1 had some obvious examples last week.

And...that's all I'm gonna say, folks! :D :D :D

Yep sure did. And if we had started our optimal lineup with our maximum amount of points we still would have lost and would have ended up in the exact same place that we did anyway.

Floated out the consolation bracket idea that @Bandit implemented to see if that keeps non-playoff teams engaged.

Hoping to not have any firsthand experience with that bracket in those leagues, but i liked what I saw

Are you trying to upset are Better Than Average Joe... Nowhere ville. Original 6 team and certainly a very major market... This must be the Blues fan in ya talking. Let me @averagejoe to stir it up

I was referring to the league wanting Bedard to go to a market like Chicago, thus fixing the lottery so it would happen, vs letting him play in Buffalo, San Jose, Utah, Tampa, Columbus, Ottawa, Calgary, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Minnesota situation where they wouldn't be able to squeeze the marketing dollars

If anything, the Blackhawks are keeping pace with the other Chicago sports teams. Taking a top prospect and making the team unwatchable.
Penalties on the Hawks execs: interference, obstruction and unsportsmanlike conduct.

49ers LB De’Vondre Campbell refused to enter San Francisco’s Week 15 loss to the Rams in the third quarter and left the field.
-----------------------------
Guess he's thinking the outcome will be different than for D. Johnson. ... or maybe he just didn't want to get wet. ...

I'd say at this point it's a good idea to not have any 49ers in your lineup. SF is running on fumes at this point.
