Thomas Jones comes to mind, FredEx Jackson maybe too? not sure if those guys were "backups" but they were definitely B-side players that had good careers and fantasy success

A pox on Doug Whaley’s house. Man he railroaded Freddie. I literally cried that day he was cut.

As I said, he did me right, think it was 2-3 yrs ago. ... think that the only time I was able to get him. .... the Cook owners have made sure to cuff with him for a number of yrs. ....
Now if Cook goes to MIA, BUF or DEN it will certainly shake up someone dreams. ....
I can see Miami, and even Denver...Denver comes down to the real status of J. Williams knee, which no one outside of that locker room knows. And I don't care how much smoke anyone tries to blow up my arse, they aren't satisfied with Sam. Perine
Miami is a desert wasteland of scat backs and special teamers, no matter how many of them they have, so that's an easy call.

I can't see Buffalo though. Cook, Harris, Murray and Hines..that's a very deep RB room, even if none are A players.

Thought Dalvin James Cook said that he didn't want to play on the same team as James Dalvin Cook, wanted to let little bro get his chance

forgot about him... he fits Titans better than cook...

so now to think where i got cook going now... maybe KC?? i like the idea of buffalo where the 2 brothers are together... but really that is the only reason to do it... and thats not a good enough reason to do it...

the shame is i think the vikings are the perfect fit for Cook, but they were the ones to release him,.. so he aint going back... Maybe the Bears?? actually i like that... I have cook going to the bears!!!

but if the dolphins dont sign Zeke i would be surprised... i just see them to be such a perfect fit...

I certainly see the logic in those destinations

I would say that while what Zeke can still bring to the table, some power, short yardage, excellenct pass pro as a 3rd down type guy, but he's not gonna add what would be needed as a receiver on those 3rd downs. Catch the ball sure, run after the catch, not so much. That's pretty much exactly what Miami needs, I just don't see him succeeding in the Gibbs/Shanny/Kubiak/Shanny Jr. run scheme. He's just not that style of runner. But, used in only certain situations, I'm sure he'd get that job done. But is that specific of a role enough to justify that signing? For me, Cook or Hunt would be much better fits for that system, and they'd get more bang for the buck out of either of them.

I can't imagine the Titans saying- 'you know what's missing, why we aren't a serious playoff contender? We need another RB' While Henry could use a running mate, they certainly don't need anyone with those types of pedigrees. And if Spears is anything near what I think he'll be, he's the answer as to that running mate, possibly the heir apparent overall too. Regardless, an aging veteran RB isn't what this team needs or probably wants.

Fourny and the Boys, yea, sure I'd buy that, although I fully expect them to re-sign Zeke. Jerra is still the only owner who would pony up the money for him. And for my money, I see Fourney sitting on the couch by the phone well into the season, if not for good.

tough call for any and all of them, outside of Miami and TB, every team has at least some version of a "the guy" or their committee's are pretty full already.

Right? that's what i heard as well.

But how cool would it be, Dalvin signs somewhere else for 2-3 years, hits free agency as a 30+ year old, takes a vet minimum to backup his little brother in the NFL, maybe for a realistic shot at a SB..I mean that's just poetic shit type stuff

your titans point is why i changed it to hunt... Hunt is just depth at this point...

for miami and Zeke... i basically picked zeke because i really hope they use archane... i think zeke and archane would be great... zeke is the veteran, the good blocker, the short distance guy... archane would be the big play guy... i know they have mostert and Wilson too... but i really see both as just depth... and they get injured easy...

also, i was shocked by the cowboys releasing Zeke... so i do think he is a good fit there too... but i think fournette is the cheaper and less good version of zeke(not that they are that similar)... point is that it would be easier to make fournette your backup than to make zeke your backup... at least thats how i see it...

Am I the only one who thinks Miami is very happy having Mostert and Wilson? They know that playbook better than their palm lines.

Zeke: Chargers (like a glove)
Cook: Rams (I just don’t see another spot)
Fournette: Jaguars (couch is more likely)
Hunt: Browns (return to sender)

Does Pittsburgh like Warren?
Does Denver wait it out? (Are these backs waiting to see Javonte?)

im convinced about miami solely because of Tua... i think they will try to become more of a run team just to protect tua from a forced retirement...

for what its worth, outside of Cook, these guys will not get enough work to even be a flex play.

For fantasy purposes:
Rams are the dark horse team
Miami the favorite
KC/BUF everyone's wet dream
Denver the wildcard

Zeke/Fournette looked done last year, could fill a role on the right team but you're hoping for some TD luck.

Rumors last year that Hunt lost a step after the injury 2yrs ago and that kept him in a limited role behind Chubb

Cook is only one that I feel like has enough left in the tank to mean anything for fantasy outside of bye week flex plays

I like those better
Zeke to LAC is like a glove

Cook to the Rams? Stafford, Kupp, Cook?? Not so bad

Depending on where they go...they very well might
Cant tell if youre agreeing or not?
Why would any NFL team sign a RB who has barely been making himself relevant with the hopes that he is better 1 year older, just for that NFL team.

Both agreeing and not?? :)

Anyone who ends up in TB is immediately the top of the depth chart, especially without Brady throwing 500 padded, they need a real RB.

same thing in Miami, except only Cook/Hunt fit the current scheme.

I would put all those names equal to or greater than Akers in LAR.

I think anyone signing in LAC will get ample touches, Ekeler just cannot continue to be the only option, and be expected to be good to go for any potential playoffs.

Beyond that, yeah they'll likely not be a fantasy factor, outside of cuffs/injuries

I think the leash on players is getting shorter and shorter.
Maybe a decade ago, a player who made a name for himself had multiple opportunities to be relevant.
Look at Hopkins.... no one has signed him yet?!?!?! Whether its the market, the management, or the competition, teams are trending younger.

A good example (for me) is Ronald Jones.
Ranked as high as 27th in 2019, then better at 15th in 2020.
Suddenly dips to 58th in 2021.
KC signs him in 2022 and he is probably the biggest waiver add since it is an ideal landing spot for for RB-needy team.
RoJo is atrocious and ranks 100 among RB.

The dude is only 25.
