BTW BattleLyon. Brockers is hurt along with another starting D-Lineman for the Lions.
Finally feel good with their replacements if they stay hurt. Garrett, Lawler and Jones. We have three prominent Defense players that have been exhibiting chronic injuries issues and I am not sure they are going to overcome that history and become consistent NFL players with decent longevity.
They are: OKO, Lewis, and Kiser.

Any edits or additions to the givens @Retroram52 ??Not yet. Run Defense is there. Pass Defense is suspect. They continue to give-up big plays both the run and pass. Clean that up which eliminates points scored and you have a Championship level Defense.
I will add that McVay and Co need to switch out some pieces in that defense to make it better. Not yet. Run Defense is there. Pass Defense is suspect. They continue to give-up big plays both the run and pass. Clean that up which eliminates points scored and you have a Championship level Defense.
There was a lot of talk on just how good the Rams' defense is, or just how awful the Rams' defense is on the game thread last week.
I posted my opinion as 'concerning' and it may have been misunderstood.
First lets talk about some of the givens..........
So, considering all those 'givens', the bar is still set rather high IMO for this years Rams and by many, as this year is widely considered the Rams 'All In' Year' for a Championship run and their best shot in years for a Super Bowl Ring.
- This years Rams defense is under new leadership, so there is a transition period we all should take into account.
- We all can agree the Rams have arguably the 2 best Defensive players in the League.
- They also had the Number 1 Defense in the League last year.
- On the other side of the ball they can lean on what most would consider a prolific Offensive.
- The offense has an innovative HC with all kinds of new shinny parts this year.
- The defense took on some losses, besides the DC, there are new faces filling new roles.
Should they ascend to that endeavor, this year inparticular would culminate with 'Stan the Man' and a well deserved speech after his all in, and well awaited fully attended SoFi Stadium commitment to the City of Los Angeles, all it's fans, and the NFL on the podium and hosting the Lombardi Trophy in LA.
That said, I ask this one question...........
After 5 weeks into the Season, do you think this years Rams defense, is a Championship defense?
Yeah, still waiting for Junkie @SJ76 ........Yep Vita. The answer to your query is ALR's post at Number 612. I would also add to get Jamir Jones into the Defense as well. Make those additions/ subtractions, let them play together for awhile, and that would be a Championship level Defense.

SJD has been a huge upgrade over Brockers, and some of Gaines in the rotation. Both have helped the run D where Brockers just never made an impact. After 5 weeks probably not. I have questions in the secondary. After 17 weeks can they get it done? Perhaps
Even with the number 1 D last year Green Bay torched us in the playoffs on the ground right up the middle. I think that has improved.
So letting Brockers go was good. Troy Hill too imo. JJ I’m not sure If we could have even signed him. Hindsight is 2020 but we probably should have signed a decent CB but Rochellle could prove me wrong by week 17. I hope he doesSJD has been a huge upgrade over Brockers, and some of Gaines in the rotation. Both have helped the run D where Brockers just never made an impact.
JJ was a big loss not just from experience, but he was the play caller as well.So letting Brockers go was good. Troy Hill too imo. JJ I’m not sure If we could have even signed him.
