On the bright side we have some young, hungry, and talented players at LB. Negative Nancy side these guys have no experience and some have injury issues.

If we can get 100% from either Polite or Oko? Good deal. Both? Look out. Kiser stays healthy I think we have a good ILB that we haven’t had against the run game since how long? Question is who steps in for Littleton? And I didn’t think Littleton was great but he was pretty good. I’m sure we add to this position during the draft.

Ebukam and Lawler? Who knows what these OLBs have.

Young is a wildcard. Reeder I think makes a step forward at ILB.

Bottom line we have some young guys that should step up

I see you are on the side of the glass is half full SJ76, maybe when the season kicks off again i'll share that same optimism. From what i've seen so far from this group of LB's we currently have isn't very impressive to me. Maybe the system, maybe my contact prescription needs to be renewed, idk just don't think this is a group that will scare anyone. I've seen Ebukam whif on some sure tackles, and this Reeder guy..eh...

They should step up, but will they?? I'm just tired of seeing "what if's, stiffs, and lightning in a bottle players that don't amount to much. Remember the Hagler guy at LB? I hope you are right though bro otherwise... a rebuild is in store which wasn't really warranted to begin with. Anyways.. happy hump day!!! :suds:

I don’t know what to think. I’m certainly not really confident. But they are young and a few years in with a good chance of adding more thru the draft. The chances of 1 or 2 of the current LBs turning out to be pretty good are good IMO. They got to see Clay and Fowler practice and go about things. Floyd should be ok.
Remember.. Littleton was undrafted.

And honestly I don’t think our LBs have been strong for awhile even last year they were good at times and ok at times. The FO is counting on a few of these young dudes to step up and stay healthy but yeah those are ??

Our Dline looks strong and we seem fairly deep at DB.

It's good to hear players respond positively to the new regime early into the off season, hopefully that is a good sign to come for this group in hopes of rebounding this season.

And then there is the sleeper Jonah Williams. Watch out for this under-the-radar stud that we nabbed in the growing notoriety of our UDFA list which made the top five in best UDFA list in the league.

I love the fact McVay took action after missing the playoffs last season. As we all know, not to point to one play, but if Greg Z. hits the last second field goal against Seattle, the Rams would have been playoff bound.

Step one - Three new coordinators - all with an outgoing, get after them personality. The coaching staff really reflects McVay's style and philosophy. McVay's coaching maturity is evidenced by taking total responsibility with these moves.

Step two - Emphasis on stopping the run. (We've heard that one before.) Phillips schemes were becoming predictable and the points scored against the defense by Tampa Bay and Baltimore in those Ram losses sealed his fate. Staley will mix things up more, even recently revealing he will move Ramsey around the secondary no matter where the opponent's #1 receiver lines up and also to disguise coverages. More importantly, linebackers are Staley's specialty.

The 49'ers and Seahawks rely tremendously on their running game with more than one feature back. The Cardinals got the most out of Kenyan Drake last year. Obviously, we need to win division games and to focus on stopping those teams' strengths.

Speed on defense is paramount in order to stop Wilson's and Murray's scrambling ability and knack for extending plays. I expect Taylor Rapp to have big days against Arizona and Seattle by playing all over the field - making tackles and blitzing the passer. Contributions from the rookies, Lewis and Burgess, also. Lots of nickle and dime defenses against these two teams.

I think we can win both home and away games with Arizona and Seattle. San Francisco will be the test to gauge our improvement from last year.
