Doug Worthington may not even provide a decent breather, and I doubt he gets much playing time unless, God forbid the 'I' bug hits us.

(I don't even want to utter <Or type> the actual 'I' word for fear giving life, if you can, to such an entity)

that's the thing you replace a quality starter with a scrub named Worthington!... no depth on the DL interior.

DT depth is one position that is fixable these days.... Either by the draft or by cuts during training camp(which there are always a few quality players cut due to cap issues)... :suds:

They are at least 2 deep on in the inside: Brockers, Donald, Westbrooks, Trinca-Pasat, Worthington

Outside: Quinn, Hayes, Sims, Coples, Longacre

The quality of that depth? Remains to be seen.

Rams 2016 Offseason Program Dates Announced
Posted 2 hours ago

AP_200008390377_600.jpg

It’s no joke -- on Friday, the NFL released the offseason program dates for all 32 NFL teams. With a returning head coach, the Rams’ program will commence on April 18 with the first phase of the nine-week period. In the final phase, Los Angeles is tentatively scheduled to hold six organized team practice activity (OTA) workouts and then hold a three-day mandatory minicamp from June 14-16. The Rams’ six OTA dates are scheduled for May 31, June 1, June 3, June 7-8, and June 10. This year, the entirety of Los Angeles’ offseason program will be held in Oxnard, Calif.

With the latest collective bargaining agreement, NFL teams’ offseason programs run nine weeks and go through three phases. The first phase runs two weeks, and teams may work on only strength, conditioning, and physical rehabilitation on the field.

The second phase goes three weeks. During this period, teams may conduct on-field individual instruction and drills, as well as full, separate practices with the offense and defense. However, the team may not practice “live,” or conduct team offense vs. team defense drills.

Finally, the third phase runs four weeks where teams may hold up to 10 OTAs. While there may not be contact, teams can run 7-on-7, 9-on-7, and 11-on-11 drills in practice. Though the Rams have not traditionally held a mandatory minicamp in this phase under head coach Jeff Fisher, they are tentatively scheduled to do so in mid-June.

Additionally, teams may hold a rookie program for seven weeks, which can start on May 9 this year. During that time, the players may not have team activities held on weekends, with exception of one rookie minicamp. That minicamp -- which the Rams usually term “rookie orientation” -- may be held either the first or second weekend following the NFL Draft.

Yep, those are just bodies taking a roster spot.. Trinca-who sounds like a scrub , worthless=scrub.

I liked Donald, Brockers, Farley, insert scrub here, as a solid front. There's going to be some drop off at the LB spot. 1 solid LB coming back from injury to a new position, 1 converted featherweight LB having one good season. Recipe for success.

Of course having Fairley as a backup was good, but he is a starter in this league that only took that role on a prove-it deal (and apparently didn't prove-it enough to anyone, as he is now on another 1 year deal). Trinca-Pasat was a rookie, coming off a 2nd-team all Big Ten.

Featherweight LBs are becoming a "thing" in the NFL with the passing game exploding like it has. It's basically just the big nickel being played all the time. That said, the Rams would do well to find further LB depth in this draft.

Trinca-Passat is actually pretty good and fits the role of a back-up perfectly. He is built like Donald and plays like him. Don't right this guy off just yet.

A recent article has GRob vastly improved after attending an O-lineman camp and both he and Havenstein are coming into OTAs at the 335lb mark. These guys just got bigger and perhaps smarter and shall we even think it-BETTER!
