Telesco has us headed in the right direction. The main need is a QB and RB which sucks after we had Carr and let JJ walk in FA.

The #1 need in the offseason will be finding a QB and if Mattison and White don't improve finding a RB.

Heck might still have DA here as well if his best bud Carr is in town. Carr has always been in that weird spot for a QB in the NFL. Good enough to keep you in a lot of games, but not enough by himself to carry the team. I remember being on a message board (can't remember if it was this one) having the argument with a Raiders fan that Carr on his rookie deal was great. Carr once he got paid though it became difficult to surround him with talent. Doesn't help the Raiders have maybe been the worst drafting team of the past 6 years in the NFL.

I really do like Carr though and in a different situation I think he would be looked at for his career more favorably.

As for the Raiders I think they need more than just a QB and RB though. They have been a bottom-7 defense this year by a lot of metrics. Lots of work on that side of the ball before they start competing with the rest of the division. Chiefs continue to shine, Broncos look better than last year, and Chargers look like they finally found their coach so going to be tough for the Raiders to climb out of the hole they are in.

Jackson Powers-Johnson ain't too shabby either. I watched him on offense during the Rams game. Dude is a road grader beast!!

The Bungles OL isn't very good and I think they are banged up.....hoping Crosby can cause some chaos and we can win an ugly one.

I don't know if you saw this DJ, but Limmer is a better Center with this included Metric than Powers-Johnson. I would not have believed that for a second until I saw Limmer play at center and now he has earned the starting Center position and could be the nasty guy we have been looking for the next ten years. Reminds me of a combo of John Sullivan and Creed Humphrey.

So with a little less than 24 hours before the trade deadline.....

Here is what I am thinking. Been thinking about this all day actually.

Trade a 5th, maybe a 4th to the Steelers for Justin Fields now that Getsy is gone. Russ is cooking in Steel city and they don't really need him. The Raiders season could be over but they also could try and salvage it. Fields automatically improves the awful running game (fuckers let JJ walk in FA to GB in FA) and the new OC could try and cater an offense to Justin's strengths.....try and build an offense around him on the fly. If he does well, give him a 3 year deal worth 65-75 mill and use the rest of the almost 130 mill in cap space to improve the OL, add a WR, and add some to the defense.....

If he doesn't succeed, let him walk and we figure out a plan B.....a 4th really wouldn't be that bad to try and see what Fields could do.
