It was pretty bad. Not like him though, from what I've seen anyway.

Pffft. He did the same thing to Milan Michalek a few years ago.

So ratboy hits Handzus in a similar fashion to Torres on Eberle last night, the only difference is the refs called a penalty on Raffi and ejected him from the game.

Based on that, Raffi will be lucky to escape with a $2500 fine, but I think he may get the gate for a couple of games.

headshot, not blindside.

hard to say with the wheel o' justice.... prob'ly a game or two
Torres maintains it's a clean hit, so that lack of remorse may cost him.

I like Torres. Good hard working player. I just didn't understand his comments after the game. He said it was two players going after the puck so why didn't he actually you know go after the puck? He than stated that he was just finishing his check. So why would you go out of your way to hit a player where he knew he was in a vulnerable position instead of going to the puck and making a play? Hell he was closer to the puck. Why do you think Eberle was reaching?

He flat out admitted that he knew Eberle was in a bad position yet he hit him anyways. I think because of those words that won't help his case. Take a seat Raffe you'll be sitting a few games. Anything more and I'd be surprised though.

*cough* Steve Moore hit on Naslund *cough*

they have new rules ... Im ok with a 2 game suspension ... if Eberle wasnt down low reaching it probably would have been a thundering shoulder on chest hit ... It wasnt like Torres raised his elbow to make contact

It seemed during that '06 playoff run that every time I turned around, Torres was throwing a questionable elbow/headshot...

after a gonzo start 9actual scoring and stuff), he's been mostly invisible for 7 or 8 games, and then will steamroll someone, then back to lurking.
playoffs are where he has historically been a real pain in the ass. hope that trend continues (same for Lapierre, too).

Wow, that was more than I expected.

i could be loopy but didnt colin campbell at one point in his illustrious history publically say that the league looks at playoff games to count for more games than a reg season game? ... i coulda sworn he used a 2.5 figure ie 5 regular season game suspension counts as a 2 playoff game suspension

That's exactly why I am surprised. Playoff suspensions are pretty rare and this hit, while it was bad, didn't look like a hit that would force Colin to suspend Torres into the playoffs.

Hell Pronger rammed Holmstrom's head into the glass a few years back and got a whopping one game*

I guess the big wheel keeps on turnin'

*I know, 'the Pronger rule' applies.
