Scotchy Scotch Scotch!
wow just wow. oh well. nothing we can do
gillis is stunned ("Strongly disagree"), AV is stunned ("no logic" - also, we will be shorthanded tonight, as the league took it's sweet-assed time in handing down a decision)
and Torres stands by the clean hit story On second thought, Torres stands by hit - The White Towel
Murph suggests we were penalized for wrapping up the Pres trophy too early - last 2 games are meaningless, so they went more.
I wonder if the following from Kevin Lowe had any impact on the Wheel of Justice:
"I strongly believe the only way this stuff will end is if the NHL puts its foot down on lengthy suspensions," said Kevin Lowe, the Oilers president of hockey operations.
*cough* Steve Moore hit on Naslund *cough*
they have new rules ... Im ok with a 2 game suspension ... if Eberle wasnt down low reaching it probably would have been a thundering shoulder on chest hit ... It wasnt like Torres raised his elbow to make contact
That's exactly why I am surprised. Playoff suspensions are pretty rare and this hit, while it was bad, didn't look like a hit that would force Colin to suspend Torres into the playoffs.
Hell Pronger rammed Holmstrom's head into the glass a few years back and got a whopping one game*
I guess the big wheel keeps on turnin'
*I know, 'the Pronger rule' applies.
One round later he puts an elbow directly into Dean McAmmond's dome, an even worse offense IMO, and he gets... ONE GAME! The Homer hit I could buy one game, I would have preferred more, but I'll buy one. The McAmmond hit should have drawn 10+ games.
