I’ve never played or coached football, but I still follow it closely and know a lot about it. I strongly disagree that in order to have a knowledge of football you have to have played or coached, there are many die hard fans who’ve never played. And you have biased annoying homer fans who have played/coached.

Not talking about the knowledge part... I 100% agree with you on that... Just the stubborn fans per fan base who will go to their grave before admitting they are wrong about something... If you read/followed the conversation, knowledge wasn't the thing in question...

in a vacuum I 100 percent agree. Cleveland is not a vacuum. It's a fanbase with very little success to speak of in 3 decades. If Flacco leads them to any kind of success it's not an ideal scenario for Watson to return to if he was still there.

This is not to say any sane person thinks Cleveland should entertain a reality of Flacco beyond this year.
