Preseason Week 3: Pats vs. Lions Gamethread

It doesn't matter, Briz. They pissed in our wheaties, it is exactly what we needed. Practice will be hotter. Veterans getting on edge, rookies reallizing they need to keep working.

i dont care really you're probably right. i just want the whole team out there playing together and getting good, im pissed dennard hasnt been out there and ras-i and we havent even got to see the whole starting unit yet and how good they could be. i would like the whole starting unit to get some reps before the regular season but here we are week 4 preseason already and we havent had any of that yet. we dont even know what ras-i will give us. they are still dicking around with collins put him where hes gunna play and get him in with the starters so hes ready to go when the season starts you know? what the fuck is going on with the safties? bb protecting mccorty like hes a china doll or something, he needs to be out there getting reps too. now im just rambling but maybe this game will get their shit together and bb will get everyone out there finally and get serious.

This is no different than BB has approached any other season. Considering his track record I'm not going to judge how he treats preseason.

Playing hard and being dirty aren't the same. They played hard, they hit hard, and they played to the whistle. Even slightly after isn't dirty, although it is dumb. Pushing someone in the back isn't dirty.



Dirty is cheap shots and trying to hurt people. Neither of those happened.



We needed to be kicked in the teeth. We will be a better team for playing that game than if the lions half-assed it.

you dont need to get hurt in order to be dirty. you could spit in someones face and thats dirty even if you arent hurt. you could poke someone in the eye at the bottom of a pile and it would be dirty. thats why alot of rbs wear facemasks. sorry but blatently shoving a guy in the back is as dirty as it gets. they dont need to get injured. if you are playing a game and someone shoves you in the back you are brush it off like nothing happened?

we didnt need to get a beatdown. we just need to get everyone out there thats starting the regular season game 1 and get things into the right flow. theres been no dennard or ras'i, mccourty has been mia, collins has been all over the place and rarely with the 1st string, the offense hasnt had gronk and i still have no idea who is going to start for AH. we need to get our shit together the season is right upon us.

you are thinking of malicious intent. thats more on the lines of being a cheater and scumbag, and thats on a level above your common dirty play imo. like the saints bounty system to delibratly injure players, thats borderline criminal and far above dirty. shoving players in the back, poking players in the eye, spitting in players face, taunting, all fall in to a dirty style of play to me.

We are spending most of the game still deciding on what players can add value and at what situation. Some of our rookies have already locked in. Decisions are more important now than good play. 4 preseason games is 100%, absolutely essential to the NFL putting a decent product on the field.

depends on how the taunting is done. if its done in a tough guy manner yea that is dirty to me, if its done the way philip rivers was taunting the other qb famously it not thats more of poor sportsmanship. if brady went around spitting in players faces every game i guarantee you he would be labeled dirty by football fans and media.

washington hasnt been impressive i think id rather have boyce back there than washington taking up a roster spot. keeping washington could also force boldin out and i think we all want to keep boldin somehow. im not too concerned about the return game cuz most kickoffs are touchbacks now with the stupid rule change, punt returner is more important and edelman is a beast there so we set. would be nice to have demps there though right? oh well.
