No problem with FGs in preseason, want Dawson to get lots of chances.

He's doing his thing, but he can't do that against a real D. He's like the all time preseason runner.

When has he had the chance to get it going against a "real D"? He gets a couple of carries in short yardage situations and that is it. I'm not saying that he's a pro bowler but there is no doubt in my mind that Dixon could run just fine against a starting defense

I heard we have Caleb Sturgis from Florida. He is a pretty good kicker. Wish he would get a chance. Might be better then these old veterans

He's had his chances over the years. He's not quite fast enough/quick enough to beat a real defense with his feet. But he really blows the third stringers up with that ability though.

I read it somewhere that he had a hamstring injury or something so he was out of practice

Wow I am an idiot. He is on the Dolphins. Or was

I disagree with this entire post.

He hasn't had a chance to get into the grove of the game, it takes running backs a bit to get the feel for the defense. If we judged every running back by their first few carries and didn't give them any other chances then no one would be considered good. Dixon usually comes in the game and runs plays designed to go for short yardage, that being said, Dixon has had his fair share of good runs in the regular season.

As for his speed and quickness, he is certainly as quick and likely faster than Gore. What sets Gore apart is his amazing vision and balance. Dixon is plenty athletic enough to succeed against a starting defense. No one is going to tell me that Michael Turner is quicker than Dixon.

I completely disagree with your assessment of him. Put LMJ back in the game right now and see what happens. There's a reason why he's not getting carries behind LMJ and Hunter. Michael Turner has better vision balance and power against no. 1's. If he's your starting RB you better have a strong passing game because he won't break off runs like you see him every preseason.
