Um..I know that they didn't take most of the A squad for this game...but the way this game is starting is eerily like many games early last season.

So morin and ghost look better than coburn and macdonald tonight. That's a little disconcerting. Dumb penalty from morin though.

I hope Stortini plays in reading this year. I think Riley cote is a better skater than him. Even in his retired state.

Leier continues to be my player of the preseason. (Streit would probably be if he'd play more). Blair jones has been awesome too. I want him on the 4th line.

Morin and Gost looked good from what I saw. Alt too...The forwards dressed tonight as a group don't appear to be up to the pressure the Rangers are bringing. With the regular forward lines any of the three, or all of them, really look NHL ready.

Thought Morin and Ghost were 2 of the brighter spots tonight. Morin took a bad penalty and the last Rangers goal they looked completely lost.

Mase actually looked pk even giving up 6 goals. Little concerned about getting beat upstairs so much though. They were nice shots though.

The rest I think you can ball up and throw away though.

Let's see what they look like tomorrow with the nhl/ahl roster flip with the Rangers.

Ive been more impressed with Ghost and Morin than some of our vets you mention. I'm not worried about Coburn. Mac on the other hand is another story. Btw did you see that blast by Ghost last night? Dude is going to be a fine player for us IMO.

I would love if they keep Morin and Ghost on the big club but everyone here seems to be on board with keeping them down until "they are ready"

They look very good when they have the puck. I'm not a big advanced stats guy, but I bet their offensive zone time last night was very good in relation to the team.

The "when they are ready" part comes in when you look at them play defense. They have some good runs of play, and then they have situations like the 6th goal. Not only did they both end up behind goal line, but they were both in the same corner. You absolutely can't have that. That will be a goal every single time. Ghost needs to add some strength so he can rub his guy out of the play in that situation. He just coasted along next to him and then Morin shaded over to try and help. Really bad situation all around. Even before the goal I said to my roommate "oh boy, both dmen in the same corner this isn't gunna end well..."

That will come with some AHL seasoning and some time with NHL/AHL coaches. I think Terry Murray will work wonders this season in the AHL with Ghost. I just wish Morin could play in the A too, so they could be brought along as a pair. I really like the combination.
