We've been really lucky it's been a great summer. 80's and low 90's mostly, with just a few days here and there in the upper 90's.
Prediction is 102 for Clarksville on Friday. It is always a degree or two hotter in Nashville.
The humidity is already like am angora sweater. Going to be brutal.

This Friday is the last dress rehearsal before the cuts.

From the Green Bay game, Bourne, Boutte, Douglas appear to be the standouts. Shuster got the money, Parker is big and strong and has shown the ability to win fist fights for the ball.

So where does that leave Tyquan Thorton? The guy is certainly a burner. Why can't he get enough separation to be a #1 target? Is he too fast for the QB's arms to get the ball that far downfield? If he is that fast, why isn't BOB designing a slant pattern that's perfect for him and Mac or Zap?

Is the Titan's game a make or break game for TT? Or is BB willing to have 6 or 7 WRs on the opening 53-man roster?

Tough questions to answer. We all know the N'Keal Harry story. Is Ty Thorton another bent arrow in the quiver?

Injured?

Speed but cannot outmuscle defenders or lose them with lateral quickness or maybe he telegraphs his intentions?
Is he too fast for the QB's arms to get the ball that far downfield?
The current QB's? Or is his timing just that off? Tyreek Hill doesn't seem to have that issue.

Psst...Boutte, who was a 4.30 ish guy also ran a 20.87 200 meter.
That's some serious deep speed. It was #3 in the country a the time.

Thornton to IR to start the season.

My biggest question is Kevin Harris.
He had another invisible 1st quarter but then played well enough the rest of the game.....
Doesn't look like Cunningham will be QB-2?

QB3?

Give him more time at WR and practice him there. Give him a few practice reps at QB.
We all know the QB3 rules. Seems a perfect way to keep him dressed and involved. Can't waive him.
He's got a healthy paycheck, but not so nasty that rivals wouldn't steal him.

We'd have the option of giving him rookie minimum. Won't count towards the cap.....

You're a bit out of touch here.

Malik Cunningham signed a 3 year, $2,725,000 contract with the New England Patriots, including a $30,000 signing bonus, $200,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $908,333.

I did not reallize it was that big!

Note: He is below the top 51 player line so does not count towards the cap.
Would anyone pick up his salary knowing they'd have to put him on their 53 man roster?
Matbe? but would he give up his $2.73 million contract? For what? He is not going to start anywhere - more money?????

I think you are failing to account for one thing. He has to be on the 53 man roster and that's the one that matters. The QB3 is an extra player in addition to the 46 player game roster and not a 54th player for the team roster. At least I think that's how it works.

My understanding as well.
Gameday, not a 54th man on the team.

I believe that he will will be on the 53 man roster. Hence being the 47th man on the 46 man Game Day roster. Unless bill decides that he will be a WR and the 3rd QB if necessary.

Let's just hope that Mac doesn't get hurt and plays to his full potential and ability.

Ah...Carry two QB's and 6 WR's or 3 QB's and 5 WR's.
What's the difference if you have a WR that can throw vs a QB that can catch. If he plays WR and Mac Zappe goes down, he stops lining up on the outside and starts lining up under center. If he's not in the game plan as a WR, he suits up just in case.

Kinda hoping that anyway.
Hoping he stays healthy and has a breakout year!

So would we list Zappe or Cunningham as QB3, you know the one that can only play QB

If the game plan calls for Cunningham to be WR then he should go in at WR. Then if the situation arises that he is needed as QB3 because Mac Zappe are unable to continue, he throws the ball instead of Catching/running/blocking. If JuJu Smith, Parker and Thornton are IR'd.

Just like old times.

If the game plan does not call for Cunningham to be a WR, he suits up anyway and sits on the sideline unless Mac Zappe goes down.

QB3.

or maybe we have that 53rd guy, you know, the extra lineman... We name him QB3 for a few weeks so he can wear a uniform and make mom proud.

Don't be shocked if none of the starters play tonight, especially Mac and the OL.

In the final "PRACTICE", Mac dropped back 25 times and was "Sacked" 8 times and "Touched" four others. Three times, a blitzer got to him without any OL touching him.

Adrian Klemm said, "It's not ability. It's communication between the linemen. In some case, they expect someone to do something and say nothing. Other times they misread and don't talk. It has nothing to do with physical ability, it has to do with communicating."

If Klemm is right, Then that's a coaching problem. How difficult is it to stop a practice and say, "I'll stop every play and we'll be out here until midnight without a break until you all start talking to each other."

Lack of communication is a reason. There is no excuse for not fixing it.

It has nothing to do with physical ability, it has to do with communicating. This is completely on them and we coaches are doing nothing about it."
