@tlance makes a good point though. It may depend on what's available and what he wants. Obviously, he's closer to the end of his career than the beginning. So, if he isn't offered a job he truly wants...why not spend a couple of seasons mentoring Nash as an Assistant Head Coach. He still gets to coach, still has a lot input/influence, but without the pressure of being the actual head coach.

Kind of like a friend of mines Dad. Dude just turned 83 and still does consultant work. He loves it because it pays well (even though he doesn't need the money), keeps him busy (and out of trouble with his wife), there's no pressure on him and he can walk away or take time off whenever he wants because they need him far more than he needs them.

D'Antoni may well decide that's a pretty good gig, especially if they're winning.

That definitely could be an issue. I'm sure the attitudes of Kyrie/KD will effect what he does on some level. But that's another good part of a deal like that.

Much easier for him to say "I'm too old for this shit" and walk away. lol

Definitely possible.

Could also be a situation where he would receive as much credit as any assistant coach ever, but without the same risk of having an underachieving season stain his legacy.

All I am saying is don’t rule it out. He has a fantastic relationship with Nash. And if he can work with Harden, he can probably work with KD and Kyrie.

I think NO is the more appealing job.....if you fail with the Clippers......PG and Leonard can both walk (and the Lakers and W's make that a possibility).....
