It's valuable to isolate your team's weaknesses, and try to improve on them, but I've always felt play by play guys, color analysts, and intermission show broadcasters put too much of an emphasis on power play goals. A goal is a goal, and I don't give a shit how many people are on the ice when it's scored.

Having said that, the Flames PP has been atrocious for the last five years and has definitely cost them games.

That's true... if your team gets five straight power plays and can't make anything happen, it can be a real momentum and confidence killer.
