T minus 10 and counting ....
Still nervous until the ink is dry.

10 bucks says snyder writes a book or does an interview where he blames the league and other owners for pushing him out because he was going to bring to light their corruption and debauchery.

Legal snags between NFL, Snyder threaten to complicate Commanders sale

Issues in the legal negotiations between the NFL and representatives for Washington Commanders owner Daniel Snyder threaten to complicate the approval and closing of Snyder’s $6.05 billion sale of the franchise to a group led by Josh Harris, according to two people familiar with the conversations between attorneys for the league and Snyder.

It was not clear late Wednesday night whether those complications will affect the NFL’s plans to have team owners vote to approve the sale at a meeting next week in Minneapolis.

According to one of the people with knowledge of the deliberations, the complications are related at least in part to legal issues pertaining to the leaking of emails that led to the October 2021 resignation of Jon Gruden as coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

That person described the complications as “significant” and “not just some small snag,” expressing the view that the issues could delay the owners’ approval of the sale and the closing of the deal if they’re not resolved. But the person also left open the possibility that Snyder and his attorneys merely are attempting to extract last-minute concessions from the NFL on legal indemnification related to Gruden’s lawsuit against the league, and the issues will be resolved in time for the owners to ratify the deal as expected next Thursday.

[O]ne person said...that, while Snyder is not seeking for the league and the other owners to indemnify him against future legal liability, the complications relate to the willingness of Snyder and his family to indemnify the league and owners against liability related to the Gruden case. Snyder’s attorneys are arguing that Snyder should not be responsible for any legal liability stemming from the actions of NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell and league attorney Jeff Pash, the person familiar with the deliberations said.

That's hard. Most damage done was probably Allen even though he cleaned up the cap he was still voted the most untrustworthy GM and that hurt us in FA.

Zorn was the most incompetent but wasn't here long enough to do real damage. Cerrato was Dan's front man.

Spurrier is a good coach if he has the best athletes on the field. If not, his work ethic becomes a problem.

Not sure why Jay is on this list. Won a division and his offense moved the football.

Winner: Bruce Allen. Low balling Kirk and not putting his foot down against Dan when it got personal with Trent makes him the winner imo.

I agree Allen in the winner. Low balling KC and not trading KC when people knew he would never sign here long term makes him the winner. Could of gotten a haul from SF. Plus the Trent saga. Totally screwed up the situation.

Harris and his partners believe that the Commanders represent a distressed asset with substantial upside. Back in May, ESPN reported many of the details from the Josh Harris prospectus:

According to a prospectus prepared by Harris Blitzer Sports & Entertainment and its advisers and obtained by ESPN, Harris predicts that the removal of Dan Snyder as owner will boost attendance, ticket sales and sponsorship revenue, as well as the team’s prospects for a new stadium.
The ESPN article went on to provide some interesting detail. The first issue addressed was the likelihood of governmental support for a stadium deal, and in recent weeks there’s been a notable uptick in positive reports about renewed efforts by local authorities to jockey for position to strike a deal with the Harris group with respect to the next stadium.

Last season, the Commanders made $173 million in local revenue — dollars generated from tickets, sponsorships, parking and other team activities, according to the prospectus. In his base estimate, Harris projects that number will more than double to $380 million by the 2031-32 season — and could hit $466 million that year if the team builds a new stadium.

“The Commanders historically ranked top in the league across all local revenue metrics and attendance. However, the team has significantly spiraled as a result of allegations against current ownership,” the prospectus states. “As ownership changes, we see opportunities to substantially drive local revenue and bring the team back to a top NFL market.”

Gate revenue, which has fallen by an inflation-adjusted two-thirds since 2008 to $58 million last season, is projected to rise to $127 million by 2031-32, according to the base estimate in the prospectus. In this outlook, the team’s total revenue, which includes dollars from media rights, would soar from $545 million in 2022 to $959 million in 2032-33 — or $1.05 billion with a new stadium

.Harris estimates spending about $88 million to “help establish ownership’s commitment to fan/player experience” — including for new videoboards and a locker room update — and says the group is assuming the need for $100 million for “immediate structural repairs” and maintenance to FedEx Field. Harris also estimates spending $43 million to upgrade loge boxes and suites. The document cites that under Harris, the 76ers climbed NBA ticket rankings from 27th in 2014-15 to fifth in 2021-22.

They usually get things right, so that’s probably why they’re still in business.
