If Paul gets bought out, he’s going to the lakers.

Maybe. I'm on the fence about it.

On the one hand, as others have pointed out. The problem isn't that he can't play. He's not what he used to be, but when he's healthy, he's still one of the best pg's in the game.

On the other hand, he can be a locker room problem.

Then again, it'll be Lebron's locker room, so maybe CP3 is smart enough to know better than to be an issue.

He’s also team love boat.

And he would be at best the third best player on the roster

Aren't buyout candidates usually in their last year or 2 of their contracts? He has quite a few years left....

Usually. But there are apparently rumors that if OKC can't trade him, they'll buy him out.

Personally, I doubt it gets to that point. As bad as his contract is, I think some team that thinks he can get them to the playoffs will trade for him.

But apparently a buyout isn't out of the question...so we'll see.

I’m curious how much money he’s willing to give up to play for a contender

If OKC can't get him traded AND he becomes a locker room problem is about the only way it would happen. It's a helluva big price tag and I'm sure Presti has other ideas...but it could ultimately get to that point.

Has,anybody been bought out that had this many years and this much cash left on his contract?

I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Me either.

But there was also a time when no one had signed a $100 million contract.

Wild to think about the max being so low now

This is why I didn't understand why the Thunder traded for Paul. That's great they got two first rounders and two swaps but the Heat reportedly want at least one of their picks back just to take back Paul.
