I don't think you can defend that objectively. The numbers are pretty close, but Russell only has a slight edge in one or two smallish areas. Passer Rating is similar, but Carr has a clear leg up in QBR. Either way, I'm not so sure the comparison is even relevant. Russell was so bad in year #3 that he never played in the league again. That doesn't seem remotely close to the trajectory Carr is on.Wow didn't think I would be so much in the minority on this. I think if there was one team that can actually absorb so many retirements it is the 49ers. They have had a ton of picks over the last few years and this is where they have to see that pay off. Coaching staff is probably my biggest question with them.
The Raiders I guess I just can't believe in them yet. JaMarcus Russell put up better numbers his first full year starting than Carr did this past year. Not sure why people are seeing this great franchise quarterback in him. Throw in the guy has already shown he could be heading down the path of Bradford in always having some kind of injury. I just see him having a terrible Sophomore year and the Raiders really struggling because of it.
Hmm, this is surprisingly tough. I think the 9ers will still go 6-12, but the Raiders 5-11.... it's close though. Raiders are just too far away from the trenches and 49ers have imploded.
Didn't know the Niners played 18 games.Hmm, this is surprisingly tough. I think the 9ers will still go 6-12, but the Raiders 5-11.... it's close though. Raiders are just too far away from the trenches and 49ers have imploded.
