I know that I'm not genius, but based on my analysis, Defensively we are on a completely different level than we were last season.

I was really happy with the way the LBs were filling gaps by the end of this season, and our Defensive Line is not moving backwards anymore.

Also, we have Randy Gregory and this Clinkscales feller looks to have just as much potential.

Yup and if Clinkscales plays at the level that Gregory played this year, Avery Moss comes back Nebraska has one of the best front 7 if not the best front 7 in the B1G. 2014 Nebraska defense will be special.

I just feel Defensively that we are making the same kind of transition this year as we did from 2008 to 2009.

Offensively we are better than we were in 2009.

There are definitely opportunities in 2014 for Nebraska to do some things. It is just going to come down to curing the same mistakes that have plagued us every single year. Tommy needs to grow up 10 fold going into next season. Luckily, they always say QB's make their biggest improvements after their 1st season.

Other.
I still wonder how we would be if we didn't fire Solich

as for are current state neutral and closer to reverse that forward. We still have to solve the issue of offense identity with JS or TA. defense will still be growing but we've seen how long it takes bo defense to turn up. special teams have been bad. recruiting still catching up but look at where we are ranked.

but with all that I've mention if Bo made some changes we could easily be a top 15 team. get an spread offense that still has power but can spread the ball around. get a hungry defense that has the ability to handle speed teams and power teams.

This 9-4 crap with a weak schedule and conference is for the birds

I chose better off than in 2004, since I equate 2004 to Steve Pederson, Bill Callahan, and Kevin Cosgrove.

By that reasoning, anything is better to have those three gone.

I agree with you completely about our defense improving and opportunities.

But the bold text is the "but" and there in lies Nebraska's future. So looking at past history our future is bleak.

That's where the magic fairy dust comes into play. If you don't believe in magic fairy dust curing long term trends offensively, defensively, and on special teams, then you are just a hater and a fair weather fan.

It all comes down to Tommy.

Make as many mistakes as Taylor did and we're gonna have similar results.....trying to dig ourselves out of holes constantly which in turn only causes more problems and makes the hole deeper.

We haven't had a very mature QB since Zac Lee.......and he just was simply incapable of producing. But he did take care of the ball and because of that you never saw the turnovers and the meltdowns that you see now.
