This postseason is just another example of why there is no "building a team for a World Series championship" anymore. You play to get to the postseason, and then all bets are off.

It's still true you need veterans who know how to work a count and 2-3 starters who can toss a good game or three.

Not to mention none of these teams had a pen which crapped the bed.

So I think you do still need the key pieces and it takes time to build.

Did you see the batting avgs for Nationals? Out of their first 7 batters, 2 had avg of .211, and the other 5 were lower than this, with Turner Weiters bottoming out at .143.

It's hard to beat a good HS team hitting like this.

I think that's what makes last night's loss so awful... they put up an 8-spot... and lost.

My preference in order:

1) Cubs = dislike them the least out of who is left

2) Yankees = they haven't had success in awhile

3) Dodgers= didn't really like the Darvish trade. They could've given us more. They're extremely rich prospect wise and money wise. JD should've been able to extract verdugo or buehler. Effers!

4) Astros = we'd never hear the end of it. Houston fans talk so much shit about the Rangers and cowboys. They don't deserve it. Wouldn't want them to get the momentum boost from winning it either since we play in their division.

However, I'd guess we see a dodgers vs Astros World Series at this point and if I had too, I'd put money down on the dodgers.

Well, if you'd like my sage-like wisdom, here's where I land: Dodgers v Yankees, with the Dodgers winning.

Why the Dodgers? I want Yu to get a ring.
Why not the Cubs? They won last year.

Why the Yankees? They're not the Astros.
Why not the Astros? Fuck the Astros.
