I guess it's already been mentioned that we're in if we win 11 and we'll probably need 11 looking at the schedules of the Cards, Hawks, Eagles and Boys... and the Pack of course. Whoever doesn't win the East could easily win 11 and miss the playoffs while the South winner may host one with 6 wins. It could happen. Winning the next 2 and having the last be for the division... and very possibly HFA through the playoffs, is the dream. The Hawks would have to lose another for that to happen (the HFA throughout part) as they hold the tiebreaker over us.

Hoping for a Philly win against Dallas. Philly plays Giants and Skins the last 2 weeks so they should win those. Dallas has to play Indy. Dallas loses and to philly and we beat Vikes next week then we would be in with a Dallas loss in either of their last 2 and Indy is a possibility.

Played it out and if the Lions lose to say CHI and GB then SF or DAL could take our spot. DAL if they only lose 1 of their last 3, and SF if they win out. A 2nd loss by DAL or any loss by SF and we get in winning 1 of 3.

Lions could also lose all 3 and make playoffs if Dallas looses all 3 of their games, and SF looses one.

I am just generating random outcomes. Lions win out we will take one of the top 2 seeds depending on SEA/ARI. Either one of them wins out or if Arizona goes 2-1 and best we can hope for is 2nd seed.

Also it is looking like Muzz is right. We win the next 2 and we clinch. I am changing everything I can think of and I cannot any combination of games where the Lions miss the playoffs with 2 more wins.

Although last year they controlled their destiny also... This year with a December win already. First in forever, for me a huge letdown to miss out now. Completely different feel than last year for me. I never knew the hope and change campaign was meant for the Lions season.

Team Caldwell has shocked me this year. Yet I fear we will lose both Suh and DC Teryl Austin soon, so it's really been bitter sweet for me. Maybe there's a dark cloud still hanging over me but I'm already worried about a losing season next year without them.

Suh sure, Austin already getting a HC gig after one season of DC? I would be shocked. I do see it after 2015 and another top defense from the Lions.

I have seen stupider things happen. Browns coach only HC gig was high school and he is doing a decent job.

I'm not in the loop like I used to be but I've heard more than once that he will be targeted by a few college teams this off season. Florida was one of the schools considering him.

And if Mike Pettin can get a HC job, I think Austin could too. Watch the Redskins sign Suh, fire Gruden, and hire Austin as their new HC next year. Wouldn't shock me at all.

Redskins need way more than just Suh and Austin. Can see Snyder doing that and thinking that will right the ship. If I was Austin, I would not answer that call and run far away from that organization. That ownership is more disfunctional than ours.
I would never take a job after anither coach was one and done. Never feel secure.

It's shaping up to be an exciting last month of the season and the final regular season game for all the divisional marbles. Quit thinking about the offseason, you're not the old Lions, and it's way too soon.

It is not in a Lions fan's DNA to just enjoy the moment. We've been disappointed so many times, we are programmed to expect the worst.

Unfortunately -- with 1 playoff win in 50 years -- that is what happens. I wish I could have the conscience of a NFL CB, but I, and many others, do not. If Detroit can string together some successful years and a playoff win here and there -- I think it would help tremendously with the psyche of the Lions fan.

To think I dumped the Redskins almost 20 years ago to suffer as a Lions fan would possibly pay dividends down the road. Who knew?

Even after 0-16 I would not want to be part of the other debacle going on in Washington.
