John McClain from the Houston Chronicle who has been in Houston for decades and is most definitely more clued in than anyone says the Texans want.......

Two 1st
Two 2nds
Two defensive starters

Not sure who his sources are or if its already been mentioned on the board.

He's basically their John Keim on steroids.

Speculation is the Raiders are offering Carr for two 1st. They want to do a three team trade that lands them Watson.

Hell no. I wouldn’t give up a single first for Carr. He had a singular good year, got a huge contract, and then proved he is not worth it.

I'd give them 19. I wouldn't like it. but I'd probably do it. I actually like the idea of trading up for Fields much better. I think he'd fit real well in Turner's offense.

Pass on that then. They are looking for someone to fix the mistakes they made the last year or two.

If true, pass. That is just too much for any one player. He is one hit away from being Alex Smith. Then we are screwed again for a decade.

I'm all for having Watson here. He is undoubtedly an upgrade. But there has to be a cap on the price. Gutting a strength (our defense) makes no sense. Sometimes you have to just walk away from that shiny toy in the ad as you just can't afford it. If anyone is OK with this price, then that is just desperation talking. You need to take a breather and really consider the price, the risk and where this team really is.

Fields in shotgun being flanked by Gibson and McKissic or Felton(UCLA) would be a problem. That would also open up a lot of soft zones for Thomas to sit in.

The odds on Watson are long, but we are an NFC team and we could put together two good defensive starters. Watson still has that no trade clause though.

I normally respect your opinions and look forward to them but you are starting to sound like fan boy in this regard

I gave you the stats and W/L record the last three years when they were both starters and they are largely equal.
I'm sounding like a fanboy. Heh. OK. Was I the one who brought Cousins into the discussion in the first place? I don't think so, but If I did my bad cuz I knew what it would lead to. Posters waxing poetically about Kirk and different versions of history bullshit. I've posted my thoughts on Kirk already.

And yes you did give stats on W/L records over the last 3 years. Which were Watson's 2nd, 3rd n 4th year in the league and Cuz's 7th, 8th n 9th year in the league. I simply went with a comparison that started when both were rookies n went season to season in that way. You say the last 3 seasons from both Cuz n Watson are pretty equal. I can't disagree and I didn't argue against it. I did say I still think Watson's a better QB than Cousins which is the consensus opinion everywhere else except in this forum apparently. Trekking their careers from the time both were rookies up to their fourth year cuz that's as long as Watson's been in the league greatly supports that argument. That's all I was doing to which you called me a fuckin fanboy eh. I guess this argument's been decided.

And speaking of Kirk. He's lit it up so much the last 3 years. That the team that paid him a record setting completely guaranteed 80 something million dollar contract just 3 years ago. Might be ready to move on from him. Possibly so they can what? Obtain Deshaun Watson. And why would they do that. Because Watson is a better QB than Cousins is the first thing that comes to mind.
