Yes they will and do so happilly. There won't be better offers coming their way. Miami won't make a better offer, Detroit won't, the Jets are either staying with Darnold or Selecting his replacement in the draft. Whoever is left won't match that offer. There is one exception and that's Dallas, who might be willing to swap QB's straight up. Iknow that it's not the blockbuster that everyone is predicting b ut hey, it's a Texas, my balls are bigger than yours kinda thing to Dak And Deshaun.
i guess we will see , but again it wont get done till the start of the season

there is no dead cap hit for watt

If the Texans trade Deshaun Watson, the cap will absorb another $21.6 million in dead money spread out over the next several years, hitting Houston for $5.6 mil in 2021 (which would put Houston at $23.5 mil OVER the cap, for those following along at home)

Yep! we'll see and you're probably right about the timeline but ONLY because their owner is the G.D.O.A.T. (D=Dik)

Lions will have to eat $19 million in dead money for Stafford.

L.A. Rams will take on a dead cap hit of $22.2 million in 2021

Eagles seem fine with swallowing a $33.8 dead salary cap hit for 2021, for Carson Wentz.

Garoppolo will cost the the 49'ers $26.6 million potential cap hit in 2021 (for those thinking about trading for him.

Sam Darnold carries a $9.79 million cap hit in 2021 and a fifth-year option for roughly $25 million in 2022. (No team will pick up his 5th year option)

Teams are now willing to take those hits for QB's that no longer serve their interests. Clearly there's a trend. Houston won't be any different because they have zero choice.

It's a new day in major sports leagues. Gone are the days when players have no say or can be ignored if they do say something. These players want to win and if the organization isn't putting real talent around them they notice.

Team owners will either have to adapt or be relagated to Non compos mentis status. Tom Brady has been out front in his desire to be heard and taken seriously. He picked his team then demanded certain players be signed to join him, the result? a Super Bowl win! Now, if you think that others haven't noticed and won't follow, you're not paying attention. Look for as many as 15 to 20 teams having new QB's this year. The genie is out of the bag!

I made a mistake in this previous post, the correction is highlighted.

Original

I believe that it's a wise thing to do and as such they are pleased with what they're hearing right now. It is because of that that my offer will sound and ultimately be the very best one that they get. Knowing this, they will jump at that offer and walk away pleased as pie.

I'm mentally prepared for Cam, Heinicke and Allen. That's my best guess at this point.

There has to be more. Hopkins getting jettisoned by O'Brien for reasons unknown? Or reasons known? Either way the organization "let" that happen. Hopkins is a top WR in this league and your top QB watches this unfold with his team officials doing nothing about it. The trust with the top was broken and he was likely done then. He and Watt just continued to watch the deterioration of the team since then and realized their time was up to win with that franchise.

If you were his age would you not sign a contract that someone put in front of you for over $100m? These are real people affected by insane money to play a game.

then you live with the consequences of that choice . if you chose money over winning or having a good work environment then who is at fault ? yours (DW not you specifically ) . people dont just hand you 100 mil and think everything will go your way . you have to be smarter then that and realize everything has a cost

Looking at the FA moves last year with this team and the cutting of AP, i just knew we would win 3 games again. You start Alex at the beginning of the season, we likely win 9 games and the division more impressively. I really really believe we are going to pull off some more head scratcher move that end up working out.
....we all want a franchise qb, but right now....depending on draft, trades and FA.
.i think we can survive 1 more year without one. A ton of franchises are going to have to cut good players. And guess who'll be there to console...lol

You can trade a 3rd and maybe trade down a couple spots with the first pick and gain the pick back or whatever giving up 3rd is ok
