How is Trottman a better option than Riikola? He doesn't have the offensive tools, he's not as good a skater, he's not even that much more physical, and between leaving the ice when he broke his stick to allow a 2-on-1 and trying to one-time the pass he intercepted through the middle of the zone right onto a Caps' stick suggest he's not much smarter a player, either. The only edge he has is being right-handed, and that wasn't a concern for them most of the season playing Johnson on the right side. I mean it was an issue, they just didn't act like it was.
