Gudbranson is at 55% possession since joining PIT. Him and Pettersson seem to compliment each other.

Funny that neither player was in the organization before this season and now, even if that possession metric is unsustainable and things could still get bad with either player, they make up a decent NHL-level pairing.

I wouldn't call it that. It was more like any other typical scrum "protecting" teammates.

With that said, at least, Gudbranson knows his role, the part of him actually playing like an NHL d-man is just gravy at this point.
